I am just wondering what/if plexiglass will work for making 1 wall of a sub box(top of course) and how thick it should be? and roguhly what im going to spend on it...

it will prolly be like 35" by 15" or so?

im doing fiberglass for the rest of the box w/ mdf base

it needs to be clear so you can see the subs, but offer protection against shit fallin on them

I'd ask a glass shop, or utilize a piece that you already have from another box.

BTW, since you're getting setup for painting.............You can buff out old glass and plexiglass using the same supplies. Let's say, if you find a piece that has a scratch in it or something. ;)

i used to work at home depot and they sell it and cut it for you. It is roughly 25 dollars for a 2x2 1 inch thick peice.

I would stay away from plexiglass. The presure will make it crack I have seen it happen. It looks great just dont run too much power to your subs. :)

1 inch thick plexi will not crack

especially on the minimal span he's talking about

jesus christ

im fuckin make base of the box out of mdf and sides with plexglass and bonod/resin

the plexiglass is going to be a cover over the subs to protect them

Shit, I bet you could make the whole box out of 1" plexi and it wouldn't break. It'd take a 20 lb sledge hammer to crack plastic that thick.

exactly- people fail to realize the thickness of the material we're discussing and the strength of plexiglass

yes a 1/8" piece of plexi will crack by bending it- that doesn't mean a 1" piece will do the same :)

LOL, yourpiece of shit honda's cant even handle the weight of a decent sound system, piece of shit cars. get a real car hahahahaha ....honda!.....rofl pieceofshit assholes
