i just broke off two of my wheel studs because of some alignment place i went to crossthreaded my lugs . mann . i just wanted to know if i could drive it to a shop 15 mins away to replace my wheel studs since i only have two left now on the right front of a 94 accord lx . or is it too dangerous ? please help . thanks .

HOLY SHIT !!!

the same thing happened to me today...

but i was the one who fucked it up.

i overtorqued one lugnut on the front right wheel, and it snapped it off....

its ok to drive for a few days with only 3? on the freeway?

how hard is it to replace it myself?

when it happened to me, the guy replaced 2 of the studs in about 45 minutes. i didnt see the preliminary steps, but it didn't seem to hard at all.

i drove 10 miles or so with 2 front left lug studs snapped. i maxed out at 45 mph though. i made it safe and sound, but make sure you really tighten those fuckers up if your gunna drive.

i drove 2k miles on 3 lugs, just cause i was too lazy to pop the new one on the rage. its easy as pie...

I drove for 6-7 mos w/ 3 on the left rear. Replaced it 'cause 3 wouldn't pass tech. Wouldn't recommend it though

Yeah. If you use a "breaker bar" (18" or bigger extension) its easy. I broke mine trying to get it off cause the loser at Wal-mart tire that balanced it crossed threaded the S.O.B. NEVER USE AN AIR GUN TO START LUG NUTS!!

I asked the manager which NASCAR team the fool thought was working on. This is the second lug & stud they've had to buy me. I made the pay me labor this time. Oh yeah, don't go to the Wal-Mart tire in Perry, Ga! I won't ever again!!!

To replace them, its easy. I have never done it on a honda but I did one in auto class on an escort. If there is a spot weld on it, use a chizel to knock it out. Next, hammer it out. To replace, stick in, put a few washers over it on the front side, put the lug nut on, then tighten till you pull it all the way through. If there was a spot weld there, put a new spot weld in, or, some JBweld. Now your done.

i've got curcuit 8's, and for some reason, you have to tighten down the nuts like once every 2 weeks or so, else they'll loosen themselves...i dont know how... i drove 2 hours to dallas, and i couldn't figure out what the hell was rattling so bad. when i got to dallas, i looked over my entire front passenger side (where the rattling was coming from) and i only had 2 lug nuts on, and one of them i could loosen with my finger.

dont know what the point of that was....

were you using stock lugs? stock lugs are the wrong shape to use with after market wheels, you really need some aftermarket lugs. i have rota circuit 8's with kyokugen lugs and i drive 4 hours home from school and 4 hrs back every weekend and ive never had trouble.

wth... put some lock tight on that shit. also why did you go to wal mart again after the first time???

i have stock lugs on my slipstreams and they work just fine i dont know how tight i tighten them tho. i use a gun but i dont have the 80pound torque bar.

i've got those discount tire lug nuts...not the ones where you gotta have the hex key that always gets stripped out...i dont konw what theyre called.

I took the 3rd gen Civic to a Walmart once for tires and actually got some decent service. The guy was into older Hondas though, so I was lucky. :) He really took his time.

you brought back a 4 year old post for that???

start a new thread next time n00b
