Hey guys! I have been on here for years, but haven't been as active lately. I had a 90 CRX Si with DOHC ZC and Jackson Racing Supercharger. I got a 2002 S2000 after that and just recently I got a 2002 Corvette Z51. I like the car, but after driving it I really miss having a Honda. I know some of you will think that I am crazy, but I am contemplating getting a 2005 RSX Type S. I found one for 17k with 40k miles all stock in great condition. The power of the Vette is crazy, but the overall quality of the car and the way it drives is just not the same. Maybe I am too used to smaller cars. I know some of you are going to say keep the Vette, etc. but just wanted to see if any of you have made a decision similar to this.

I'd have to say I really think you'd be disappointed with the RSX compared to the Corvette and S2k. The RSX really doesn't impress me at all with the power or design (except the K20), and they ruined the suspension on them by switching to McPherson struts. I've driven a stock and decently modified Type S and I was not impressed by either of them.

Yeah I realize that it isn't going to perform like the Vette or S2000, but I just want to get something with more room in it. The K20 is a decent platform to mod and the Type S still runs a 68 mph slalom so it still handles well. I have seen bolt on K20s beat S2000s so its not like they are that slow when modded either. I don't know I just like the looks of the RSX. It seems really refined and the big thing for me is the price. I paid 20k for the S2000 and 24k for the Vette so my payment would be much cheaper.

rsx = :thumbsdown:

they just arent a fun car at all

ive driven a few of them.... meh

if your going to get another honda id go back to the S2000 and mod it a little

Yeah I like the S2000 and could have modded it, but after having it for over 2 years I wanted something a little more comfortable and roomy so I went with the Vette. Even though the Vette is a 2 seater it is considerably larger inside compared to the S2000. The S2000 was really starting to bother me in gridlocked traffic everyday. Even being a Type S it wasn't fun to drive?

LOL...I gave them a hard look before I got the Vette. I want to get something newer, like only 2-3 years old and the M3s are a little too rich for me.

Honestly the RSX-S wasn't really fun to drive for me at all. The first time I got to test drive one I was really excited because there was a lot of hype about them when they first came out, but I can tell you with 100% confidence I would never buy one based on the performance/fun factor. My friend's GSR swapped CRX is seriously way more fun to drive than the RSX. I may be a little biased in my opinions, but frankly I think if you don't spend a bit of time behind the wheel of one before you buy it, and really drive it hard, you might feel the same way I do.

Bottom line is it is your money, and if it's what you really want then I doubt anybody here will sway your decision. I just feel that you could find something much better that will meet the criteria you are looking for.

Well, I drove a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe with 6 speed and track package. The ride quality was impressive and the quality of the interior was great. The handling was tight, but you can feel the car is 3400 lbs. I also drove a 2005 and 2006 RSX Type S. I will have to say I was really impressed with the quality of the car. It handles really well and is ultra responsive. The powerband of the K20 is good around town and it sounds nasty at 8k rpm. I still haven't decided for sure what I'm going to do, but I am leaning toward just keeping the Vette.

i love the interior. My bro inlaw has one.leather type S. its comfortable and really nice for a daily driver. he got his for 17k. If i were to mod it i would strap a turbo on it. The k20 just cant power that heavy ass car by itself.

Vette > RSX and it's only like 450lbs heavier too.. I'd keep it!

I'd Keep the Vette M8, Now want something fun? How about a 91 Mustang haha, j/k but there were light and decently fast, as for the S2000 if ya dont like driven it everyday, why not look into a RX-7 or something? just my thoughts
