I swapped a jdm zc (zc stamped on block, and crank angle sensor is in dizzy not on cam) into a 91 dx hatch. I purchsed a pm6 ecu, I performed the mpfi swap on the dx harness, and got all sensors wired. The injectors are working, and the ecu has no codes. I'm not getting any power from dizzy plug from the dx harness. I have pulled the harness out and completely unwrapped it to ohm out every wire, they are good still no power to dizzy. When I unhook the grounds at the thermostat I get power to my dizzy, but no spark and nothing else works being that that ground is for the ecu. Could this mean I have an ecu problem, or can I go after market ignition with new msd dizzy, cap, coil, and ignition box please help this is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF are you talking about? clean your grounds, make sure they are tight and try again. are you sure you dont suck at wiring?

Wiring

My wiring is fantastic never let someone else work on your car.

sounds to me like you have an OBD1 DOHC ZC that you are trying to run with an OBD0 ECU - is this correct? if so, not going to happen - to run the OBD1 ZC in your car, you either need to convert the car to run the engine OBD1 or convert the engine to run OBD0

oh, then thats easy, P28, OBD0-OBD1 jumper harness. Im not sure offhand what ECU the OBD1 ZC uses. If its vtec, i'd use a P28, non Vtec, I'd use a P06.

PO6 is non-VTEC, P28 is VTEC - the OBD1 DOHC ZC uses a P29 and is non-VTEC - a PO6 ECU chipped with P29 maps works fine

Or you could put a OBD0 Dizzy on the zc. But, the only thing with that is the OBD0 ZC's distro does not have the internal cam sensor. You would end up have to use a D16A6 or B18A1 distributor or something close to that bolt pattern. I ran a D16A6 dizzy on my ZC before, only one bolt hole lines up, but it works.

Im sure you could probably remove the exhaust cam seal and see if those two threaded holes are still there for the Exernal CPS, if so, buy mine for $38 shipped, find a D16A1/ZC distro, and enjoy OBD0 madness!!!
