I've already got a eg hatch with a b16, like everyone more torque down low would be nice, but i dont want to go turbo. Stroker kits sound expensive. I was wondering the rough cost/and weather it makes sense, for me to go ls/vtec already having the b16. I figure this way i at least have the head and pistons.
 
Block around 300 bucks
Rod bolts 90 bucks
Oil pump 60 bucks
water pump 60 bucks
golden eagle ls/vtec kit about 200 bucks
Chipped ecu is how cheap you can find one.

plus shipping and any machining you want done.
 
ya thats what i figured around too, its really not that bad at all, i was gonna go turbo but for the money i know i wont have the same power but more reliable and more responsive car, i think i will start peicing it together and put it in in the spring, already having the b16 helps.
 
find a decent ls block with low miles. Put some arp rod bolts vtec oil pump. you already have the water pump. Use the b16 pistons and be on you way........ohh wait dont forget the conversion kit. And use the p28. it should run fine until you get it tuned. i was running a stock pw0 and it was fine. A little lean on the top end but not too bad
 
i made 172 whp with all stock parts..........including stock crx exhaust with cat and resonator. lol

forgot to mention i used GSR cams with i sold for like 50 bucks. they cant possibly be more than 75

what car is it in? my old motor made 172 but with the new one i went a little more detailed. Headwork,stage cams,springs,retainers and a forged bottom end. the compression was about the same if not lower. I would say i put down 190whp

ha:D the first one was pretty shitty dude ot the ehaust. It made like 111tq.. The motor i know put down a hell of alot more. You could barely touch the pedal and it was fucking haulin'. I put a b16 in the crx after i sold the motor and let me tell you it sucked. I took for ever to get anywhere. i felt like i was in a integra ls.

when i took it to the trac i coudnt launch very well but still trapped at 101.

you know i do. I 've been thinkng about it ever since. I'm already saving up the cash. I plan on picking up where you left off if i can get it in time.

Not to mention that i saw endyn shop owner in a honda tuning website building a DD HIGH compression motor out of a dart block. He seems very knowledgable so i figured i would buy the block and have him put it together......i have family in Texas so i wouldnt be a problem to take a trip up there.

I just hope i can save up in time:D
