I just got a type-R from H motors and they say the ecu is a p73 how can I tell? And is that a good ecu? Also I need to know what mounts I need to put it in my 97ex? They was supost to send me them but they did not. Thanks Wolfy

The p73 ecu is what you need to properly run the type r motor you bought. To verify it as a p73, there should be a sticker on the ecu labeling it as so. For mounts, use the integra mounts that came with the swap; however, you need a rear mount off of a 99-00 civic si for it to work.

Read posts fully please.

You said use the integra mounts that came with the swap and he said that none came with it so you weren't really helping him much.

P.S. the stock D series passenger side top tranny mount will be fine, use the rear "t" bracket from an Si or CDN SIR, or integra ls/gs/gsr/rs/se, and the Si/Sir/integra drivers side mount. The same applies for the front mounts if you plan on running them.

I would call them up and tell them that I didn't get any mounts with the engine though but I'm cheap.

hey

Thank for the help I called them and asked. I did not realize that I can use my stock mounts know. LOL  Do you know any one that might have a light fly wheel? I am going to get a new ACT clutch. I am doing some up grads to it be for putting it in. So I will have a stock fly and clutch up for sale. Also what up grades can I do to the ecu? Like a chip or some shit. Any help thanks Wolfy:cool:

First, sorry I was a dumbass earlier. Second, exedy sells a nice lightweight flywheel. I've used it with success for awhile. Don't touch the ecu unless you do something that requires alot more air and fuel going into the engine (cams, nitrous, forced induction).

Exedy flywheels & clutches

And don't modify the ECU like was already mentioned it won't help you really at all. All the chips on Ebay and such that advertise all the crazy HP gains are complete BS. If you really feel the need to modify the ECU it will require tuning on a dyno or you will basically be throwing your money away.
