i want to put a B16 in my 92 civic, but i was wondering how much faster this would make the car. i would just be putting the engine in it for now.so any feedback would be great, about the preformance

You can't go from a D-Series motor to a B16 without a B-series transmission as well. And we really can't tell you how much faster the swap will make your car. There are a lot of factors involved here. You didn't even tell us what your car is besides a 92 Civic. Is it a hatch, coupe, sedan? DX, LX, EX, Si? You need to give us some more information here.

well i ment the hole swap trans, axles, engine, the hole thing. its going into a cx, i think its a hach but i herd them refered to as 3 door

cool you have the good one, all we have here is 8th mile tracks but i have friends that have b16a in there cx hatch that hits low 8s in the 8th mile all motor.

If I had to guess just based on that I would put it in the low 15's to very high 14's with a stock B16a, but there are many more factors other than the engine/trans that you need to take into consideration. One of the major ones being if you are able to drive it that fast or not..

Until you drop a turbo on one then I would put them in the fast category :D

Not really.. if you build the car correctly with the right parts and run good tires neither of those issues will become a problem.

well I can drive the car. I m going to turbo the car eventually, but for now it will just be all engine with a 2 1/2" exhaust from the exhaust manifold. I was really wondering how the car would do in a race. I know your going to say something about shifting but just pretended the shifting was fine.

all my scenarios, i'm assuming the motor is stock, stock+ (i/h/e).

lets put it this way. no matter what car you put the B16 in, hatch, coupe, sedan, you will not beat an H22. If you put it in a hatch, you'll give any B18C a run for it's money, minus the C5 of course! That's just speaking from personal experiance. I beat a B18C1 that was in a 2000 coupe with my stock+ B16 in my 2000 coupe. And he even had suspension work, I didn't. Started from a 5mph roll. I ended up winning but his front bumper was basicly at my rear bumper.

hope that gives u an idea. Swap for B18 over B16! my suggestion. No replacement for displacement. Even tho i won, it has more potential.

hanks that helps out i was thinking about going with a B18 but thought a B16 might be easier
all b series are the same to swap, that is if there the normal b series and not one from a accord or prelude

if you're going to boost later just stick with the b16. unless you get the b18c for dirt cheap, id say just save some cash and get the b16. i had a 92 dx hatch with a b18b1 (ls non-vtec) with i/h/e and ran a 14.6 in the 1/4mile with cheap street tires. so if you're a good driver id say mid to low 14's all day with a b16 with bolt-ons. figure stock 00 si's and rsx type s run low 15's stock. g/l in iraq
