i have a stock A6 motor that is in need of a rebuild and i have a stock dx EF hatch that i need a motor put in to drive daily and i also have a turbo set up for a sohc so i want to put it all together and make a good daily with a lil more pep in it step!

this is how far i have got

i got a whole gasket kit, new .20 over pictions cuz the cylinders were pretty rusty, i got new rings and befor the motor goes to the motor builder are there any budget tricks to do to a A6 to make a lil more power? rember i want to drive it daily threw the winter.

also will a stock clutch hold up on such motor with 7psi?

i have built a few hondas but this is my fist sohc build and all my other builds have been forged and more power goals.
 
If you are going to run a turbo I would suggest ARP rod bolts and head studs since the engine will already be apart. Chances are the stock clutch will not live very long on 7 PSI I would probably upgrade that as well to at least an Exedy stage 1 or equivalent. I can't think of any low budget tricks off the top of my head, but with 7 PSI and good tuning you should be able to extract enough power to make you happy IMO.
 
i thought i read some where there were head and cam swap that would make a lil power
 
no vtec i have a z6 head but dont want that i was wondering if there is a stock cam out of a different motor that will fit and make bump hp's a bit (ect y7 b7 b1 ...)
 
i know that zex makes a cam and so does skunk 2 so yeah i think i would get a clutch from act or something the make some good quality shiittt..
 
a mild port and polish definately wouldn't hurt, maybe a 3 or 5 angle valve job and back cut valves...
