i just finished this swap, got the p28, and the coinversion harness, and it runs, but the vtecdoesnt kick in. im going to to do the battery test tonight. but the real question is, when i pulled off the assembly from the y8, and compared to the d16a's vtec assembly, they were totally different. the real question is cann i just swap the solenods and leave the assmblies intact. any help iss appreciated

funny thing is ts the iol pressure switch from the old engine, now are we talking the one on the vtec assembly, or the one on the block? from what i knw its the one on the solenid assembly

im not too sure wat your talking about. if your talking about the oil pressure sending unit when you say the one on the block then no thats not it. its right beside the solenoid and threads into the head. if its from the old engine and it worked on it, id check to make sure its plugged in and check the wires to it

the one i have has the solenoid in the usual placen and the switch threads into the assembly the solenoid mounts to, not the head. its a d16a. and it worked fine on the d16y8. its kinda pissing me off cuz i cant figure out why it isnt working. im ready to hook up a button and call it a day
i wonder if the switch is different
