i have an 1988 honda accord lx-i automatic transmission and i want to do an engine swap with an b18c1 or b18a1 what tranny would i need. also can i use the sam intake and headers.

And you thought it would be a good idea to post this in the Civic forum when there's an Accord forum just a little ways down?

Anyways, you can pretty much forget about this swap. You have to use a B-Series transmission on a B-Series motor. If you plan on keeping this automatic, then your only choice really is to use an LS transmission, which has some of longest, crappiest gear ratios out of any Honda automatics out there. There are automatic GSR and Si trannies in Japan, but they're very rare and expensive here in the States.

Also, a B18 isn't just going to drop into your car and bolt up to your stock motor mounts. It's going to require custom mounts, and a lot of custom wiring. Judging from the questions you're asking I'm guessing you don't have the know-how to take on a project like this.

Unless you plan on converting to manual and doing all the work yourself, I'd suggest forgetting about this swap. The money you're going to spend on this isn't really worth it in my opinion.

And I see that you can write, so I know you can read. Next time post in the correct forum please...

place racing used to make motor mounts that would put a b series in the 3 gen accord but good luck finding them because they is no more place racing,

Also, even if you can find some used, they will not work with an automatic transmission. Automatics use different brackets than manuals. And pretty much ANY mount kit you come across will work with a manual transmission ONLY.
