96-00 is OBD2 and 92-95 is OBD1. If your Civic is all original then it should be OBD2. Either way you can have an OBD2 car and swap in an OBD2 engine or use OBD1 engine.

I don't think your friend knows what he's talking about. If the motor in your car is original, never been swapped or messed with, then it's OBD2. 96+ uses OBD2.

How can i check that 2 be shore ??

As I said before, all 96+ Hondas use OBD2. If your motor is stock and hasn't been swapped out (which, judging from the pictures, I would guess that it is) then your car is OBD2. Even if the motor has been swapped out or rebuilt or whatever, I don't see why the wiring would have been changed. People usually only switch to OBD1 when doing an engine swap because it's easier to tune. Your friend doesn't know what the hell he's talking about...

If you still don't believe me though, then jack up your car and put it on stands, and check to see how many o2 sensors you've got. There should be 2, one in the header or header downpipe and one in the cat converter.

i got similar prob. 2000 dx. had k20 swap. now k20 is pulled for b18c1 obd1. my question is what dash harness do i need?

sorry k20 is already gone. and i just sold mounts and harness

lol that guy "loverboy" engines totally obd2a

Well Guys yesterday i lift my car i saw the first O2 sensor in the header and searched the second near the convertor but there isnt one !

So what does it says ?? my car is OBDI ? So my friend does knew what he was talking about ??
Maby the civic 96-98 in Israel is OBDI ?
