I was jus wondering if you used the H2B kit in a prelude would you be able to bolt on a B series tranny ? Considering that the B series trannys are way better when it comes to acceleration. Or would you run into a problem when using the B series axles if you could use them?

Are the gear ratios on an H22 tranny really that bad? And not all B-series trannies have great gearing; the LS tranny for example, has very long 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. If you're gonna do an H2B, then you definitely need to be picky when it comes to exactly which B-series transmission you're going to use.

And actually, the reason they came out with the H2B isn't completely about gearing anyway. B-series trannies will install fairly easily into most 88-00 Civics. The H-series tranny won't; you have to cut a new hole in the floor for the shifter and use aftermarket mounts. The H2B kits make it so that you don't have to hack up your car so much when doing an H22 swap.

I would probably just stick with the H22 tranny in Prelude/Accord applications.

When I last checked though the H22 tranny is roughly the same gearing as the LS. But getting the linkage and axles right may be a bit of a bother in your case.
