I bought an 92 eg hatch with a H22 swap well the engine is a pain in the you know.. it's ot several problems with it so i'm thinking i would like to swap a F22C from an 05 S2K in b/c i can get one for the right price now what i need to know is what will i need for the swap considering i've already got an H22 swapped in i've been told that 1 the tranny will work, 2 the engine mounts will work 3 the AEM standalone will work along with other parts but what major parts will i need

You cannot put an f22c engine in your car. Although it is an "F" series engine it is not the same as the accord and prelude engines. It has more in common with a k series engine than an f series engine. Its a common misconception because honda usually dosn't reuse there letter classifications. The two exceptions i know of are f22c s2000 motor and th 89-91 or whatever years they were preludes that had "B20s" in them although they are in no way interchangeable with integra b series engines. If your engine is messed up i suggest you replace it with another H22 or if you want to go a cheaper route you could buy an h23 or f22/23 block and put your h22 head on it.

None of that is true. Only F-series engines that were used in Accords or Preludes will work. The F20 and F22 from the S2000 is completely different, and you cannot bolt it to a front wheel drive transmission.

Huh????:confused:

So you can't put an f22 in your car but you should put an f22 in it???

F22C is an S2000 engine.. they share the same engine family designation but are nowhere near similar to each other.

If you read everything in between the first sentence and the last then you would have understood a little better. :rolleyes:

I did read everything in between but you didn't specify which f22. I was just trying to be smart. Guess it didn't work out.

wow thank ya'll i almost blew a wad of money... i was told by several other people it would work since it's an F series i think i'm just gonna go with a turbo'd b20 non vtec a friend has been itching to do one so i figure i'll have plenty of help but any suggestions or objections before i get started

You can put the F22c in the EG. It would cost you A LOT of money and wouldn't be worth it. I can't remember where I saw it, but I guy but one in his EG with a Kseries trans. I'll try and find the write up about it.

He's a guy that has a AP1 in his EG. nothing beat's racing :)

But none-the-less. It would cost you so much money. It would be more worth you to do a Kseries swap.

f22c is rotated in teh s2k bay right? This way the tranny aims out back.....You can convert your car to rwd if you really want to use that motor but its will cost a LOT of time and effort and prolly never work right :lol:

f22c= rwd s2k
f20c=rwd s2k
f22a=90-93 fwd accord
f22b2= 94-97 fwd accord non vtec
f22b1= 94-97 fwd accord vtec

get yourself a f22 from an accord and put the h22 head on it. there are write ups on honda-tech about it. you could also use the f23 bottom end from the 98-02 accords if you didnt want to pay for the h23.

the f22c and f20c will not work in an accord unless you are willing to make your accord rwd...which would not be an easy task. then you would also have to make a custom drive line. good luck with that.

no sure cant. the f22c is different from the f22a and f22b

You can do anything with enough money and enough people with a little knowhow :)

Well, both would work eventually. I'm sure a ton of people with slight knowhow and massive amounts of cash would figure it out, eventually ;)

if the s2000 spins in the same direction as the K series, how about bolting it up to a K series trans?
Or, since it is a longitudinally mounted engine, how about bolting it up to an Acura Vigor or early Legend that is front wheel drive but with a longitudinally mounted engine? Not sure that it would work, or that would be a good idea, but it's something to think about.
