Don't hate, its not for u
Helllo Hondaswap! I have a 90 integra that was an ls/vtec conversion with a fully built head and machined head. I took my car to the shop for a bushing kit, and the valve hit the piston mysteriously. When they started it up, of course. Anyways, i have a new b18 motor and i installed it in my teg. The problem i am having is with the wiring. This used to be my boyfriend's car, but he died in Iraq 6 months ago. He got me into hondas, and now i'm trying to get his 2nd love running again. it is an obd0, i have some of the wirng done, but there are like three connectors in the back of the motor that i have no idea where they go. one is the snap in kind, and the others are like slide in kinds. I dunno if that makes any sense, sorry. I know i need to re-wire the distributor connector, which i have no idea how to do. I can take bolts off and put things together. I mean i've done everything else 100 percent by myself. susp, axle, motor inst, header, etc...Is there a place i could go for a wiring diagram of the car. preferable one with pretty color pictures. I'm not an internet person, but i found this place by searching. PLS HELP??? damn thats a lond message! ohh, when this was an ls/vtec it was still obd0

Sounds like the shop went out and had some fun with it to me.. but I guess it's too late to do anything about that since you already put a new engine in there.

Is there any way you can take pictures of the connectors? It's really hard to say based on that description which sensors you're talking about. Also, what is the full code of the engine you're installing (B18_ _)? If you have an OBD0 B18 the distributor should plug right in if the LS/VTEC swap was an OBD0 before. Do you know what year car the engine is from?

On the back of my B16, which is similar to the B18, I have the oil pressure sending unit plug which is a gold looking plug, single wire connection. Then I have the knock sensor, single wire, same plug as a 2 wire IACV or vtec pressure switch or power steering switch.

Here's some wiring, OBD0 pinouts as well as pretty pictures :)

;)2;)2thanx guys! I'll try to get some pics up tonight. A cold frnt came in and it's nipply outside. YBLEGAL.....pretty pics were nice thank u;)2;)2

we'll see Brutal...in the mean time what the hell does "bunp" mean here? I see it on a lot of post:confused:

When people want their threads to go back to the top of the list they just make a post that says "bump" or "up to the top" or something like that. They're "bumping" their post back up to the top of the list so hopefully someone will see it and respond.

Make sense?

By the way, I just read the part about your boyfriend. I must have missed that the first time I looked at this. I'm really sorry for your loss.

o.k. guys it finally warmed up today so wiring is getting done tommorow could really use some help thanx!

Hey sorry I didn't get back to this sooner, but there's a few issues we're going to have to work out before you can finish wiring the engine up. You have an OBD1 engine in the car now, and everything was wired for an OBD0 engine before as far as I can tell.

Do you still have the old engine that was in there before? That will basically determine what needs to be done to make your engine work so I'll need to know that before I can tell you what you need to do.

Also, are there any sensors on the back of the block, or the rest of the engine, that haven't been plugged in yet? Some of the connectors from the OBD0 harness have to be moved in order for the OBD1 engine to work. If you could list any sensors on the engine that aren't plugged in yet that would help too.

Sorry I can't give you any more info than that right now, but if you can answer those questions it would help a lot. Also, if you can take pictures of all the sensors on the engine that aren't plugged in that would help as well.

so here are the new pics. I see two map sensors one on the firewall(refer to pic) and one on the throttle body. The sensor on top is not connected and i can't find a connector that goes to it, or the vacuum line. Also, the tps sensor maf sensor are hooked up. there is a connector on the bottom of the manifold that is NOT connected i think it says denso on the thing. By the starter, there are three wires two look like grnd wires, and the other is a connector(maybe the knock sensor for vtec?) Ther is another connector on the bottom of the manifold that i dunno where it goes. I think the wires are blue and yellow. There is a connector that is a single wire that comes from the grommet on the passengerside(refer to pic) , I think might be the vtec knock sensor. As far as those four connectors(3 single, 1 clip)in the bottom back of the engine, all i can see is the single stem by the oil filter (pic). The coolant sensors on the head are hooked up, and the sensor on the thermostat housing is hooked up too. alternator and starter.....done.

I was wandering if the distributor wires could just be soldered to gether since the dist. has one connector, and the gsr dist. had two.( Same exact wires though) what is that circle cut hole on the left side of the intake manifold for? It's cut perfect like something goes there.(pic) Uno mass question, I have both power steering pumps. For this car, and for this motor. I can't use the original, cause of the belt differences, and i can't use the new one cause the connector(pic) does not fit....so what do i do. I don't have AC, but i would like to have power steering. My boyfriend yanked the power steering , and AC off as soon as he got the car something about saving horsepower!

Also do i need to run those vacuum lines on the firwall again. The shop previously told me i didn't need them anymore with my ls/vtec. I have a new obd0 ecu to replace the spoon ecu there now. I hope this helps a lot. I didn't take any pics of my old motor because there are no sensors left on it i used them for this motor. Well, most of them. THE previous motor was also a B18B bottom end and a gsr head.

NORCAL WHAT TIME DO YOU USUALLY GET ON. (UR TIME) I WOULD LIKE TO CATCH U SO WE CAN TALK QUICKER.

Thank you sooo much thus far.:worthyp:

Does your new engine have a VTEC head on it also, or is it just a standard B18B1? If it doesn't have a VTEC head there will be a few extra connectors that will not plug in. And do you know what kind of intake manifold is on there? I can't find anything that matches in the parts catalog.

For the distributor you are going to need to use an OBD0 distributor as the OBD1 will not work with an OBD0 ECU.

The MAP sensor you should be able to just use the one on the throttle body and not plug in the one on the firewall.

The wires by the starter look like they might be ground wires, but the picture is pretty blurry so I can't say for sure. Might want to try tracing them backwards from there and see if you can find out where they run to.

For the power steering you can try using the pump that matches the line, and then swap pulleys from the other pump if that one has the pulley you need to fit the belt. If that doesn't work I'm not sure.

The vacuum lines on the firewall are for the purge solenoids for the evap system I believe, and you should be fine just leaving that disconnected it's basically just for emissions purposes. I don't think it will cause a check engine light if disconnected.

Hope some of that helps.. I'll try to find out more later, but I'm pretty tired and not thinking very straight right now :)

BTW I'm usually on here all kinds of different times so I can't say for sure.
