I have a 2001 honda accord 2dr...i want to swap to a h22 or a h23 what is the difference?

Any year H22 or H23 will fit into the engine bay and bolt up just like your factory motor does. To make the swap easier however, I'd look towards getting a 99+ motor since it uses the same diagnostic system as your F23 (OBD2B to be exact). If it was me, I would go with the H22. I believe they quit making the H23 after 96 anyway, so that should make your choice easier.

One other thing, I would consider buying a complete swap (engine and transmission) rather than just the engine. You can reuse the Accords transmission with an H22 or H23 motor, but the gear ratios won't be ideal, especially if your going with the higher-revving H22.

sup people. i have a ?. im thinking about doing the b20vtec swap on my 01 coup..
and may be tubo charging it... im new to this eng.. can you guy help me out...

Moron.

Don't jack other people's threads, start your own. And are you talking about an Accord, or a Civic? Actually, no, don't even answer, it doesn't matter. A B20/VTEC will not work in an 01 Civic or an 01 Accord.

Next time, do some research before you start asking questions, and don't butt in on other people's discussions.

No, it won't. Do you think I'm an idiot here, or what?

The Accords use F-Series motors, which are completely different than the B-Series motors. The F23 in the Accord displaces 2.3 liters (so that means it's bigger than a B20) and it makes 152 ft/lbs torque (which is more than what a B20 makes).

If you're going to swap an Accord, you wouldn't swap down to a smaller, less powerful motor. You would either build up the F23 or swap to something like an H22 or H23, something that's similar-sized and puts down more power.

The Accord is a heavy car...it needs that much torque to get it moving. Swapping down to a smaller motor would be idiotic to say the least. The after-market knows this, and therefore they don't even bother producing mounts to put a B-Series motor into the Accord. So if you wanted a B20 in your Accord, you'd have to spend a shit load of money to fab up custom mounts, and you'd end up with LESS POWER than the stock motor is producing.

I don't know where you got the idea in your head that a B20 swap would work in an Accord, but you're clearly very mistaken. Go do some reading and some research, and then, when you actually know a few things and you have an intelligent question to ask, come back and START YOUR OWN THREAD!

Would you be able to place a k24 element engine fit in a 02 accord coupe....just wondering if there is something different to drop in there besides h-series or f series?

First of all, don't resurrect dead threads. Just start a new one.

Secondly, yes you probably can. They have a mount kit to put a K24 into the 94-97 Accords, so you could probably have something fabbed up.

Honestly though it's not worth it. That Element K24 makes about 160 horses and same for torque. To install that you'll need to do a lot of rewiring and you'll have to use a K-series transmission as well.

The H22 makes 200 horsepower and 160 lbs. torque, drops in and bolts up like stock, and can use the existing transmission.

When all is said and done you're gonna spend a lot more on the K24 swap and end up with less power starting out. Not the best plan if you ask me...
