all right. i have d16y7 ive been workin on fro the past 3 months. i have je forged low comp pistons, piston rings, a
AEM cold air intake, Apex'i N1 exhaust, drag stage 1 turbo, throttle body spacer, skunk 2 intake manifold, stage 1 camshaft, i got the valves dont to but forgot which brand, AEM adjustable cam gear, ACT 8.5lb flywheel. i might order a new driveshaft but i dont kno if i should keep my engine or swap it. also my car is an automatic. should i do a conversion to a manual? i still havent tuned my engine for the turbo. been about 1 month. is it bad 2 run ur car wit an untuned chip?

imo id sell the y7 and swap it for a b16 or b18. get rid of the autotragic. and yeah its def not good!

yea i spoke 2 my boi who owns a machine shop. he said he can get a b18c1 for 1750 with the 5spd tranny and ecu. and another 350 to convert to a manual. should i do it?

idk if that things hot or wat but if i could get one that cheap id be all over it!. if it was me i would

naw its not hot. he got it for his nephew. but his nephew is picky. his nephew wanted the b18c5. no now hes sellin it. he bought it off tigerjapanese he says. he says he even has the reciept to prove it.i mite do it. not sure. cuz if i can find a gsr tranny would it work better. cuz frm wat i hear a gsr tranny has closer ratios for acceleration

If i could get a b18c1 for my car for 1750 i would be all over that! and deff spend the extra 350 to convert to 5 speed... i dont like sports cars or racers that are automatic... seems kinda pointless to me... but its up to you and in the end it all depends on how much money you have to throw at it...

iight. but wat am i gonna do wit my performance mods. i kno no 1 who got a d16y7. i have a aem cold air intake je forged low comp pistons, aem adjustable cam gear, drag stage 1 turbo kit, stage 1 cams and vavles, i forgot the company, Apex'i N1 exhaust, a
AEM fuel rail. NGK spark plug wires, MSD plasma boost ignition. wat do u think i can get for those parts. i have more done. i think im pushin more than 220 at da wheels.

idk... if i were you i would just put all the parts i didnt want in the Parts: For Sale/Trade/Wanted section im sure you could get some good money out of some of that stuff... so just put it in there and see what turns up...

i thought you said before you had 180 in another post and now you have over 220? idk how you have that when your car isnt tuned and idk how your autotragic holds that. but anyway id sell the whole motor on ebay or somethin and get the gsr then turbo it

Well I should around that area. Me neither I'm surprised. But I never push my car ever. I let my car pick up speed slowly. I take it easy. I only speed wen I'm on da interstate. And I'm already doin 75. Then I step on it. And hit 130 wit ease

130 isnt pushing your car?

lol...

130 in a 4-speed auto.....

How is that so improbable? The D16Y7 is primarily an econo-engine, the transmission is gonna be geared fairly long.

And to the OP: if you can get the GSR swap and convert to manual for the prices you listed, then I'd jump on that. Go ahead and do the swap, and then sell your other motor and turbo setup.

LS rods or eagle rods with vitara pistons in the y7 with 440cc injectors or bigger and 20lbs of boost on a tunned p28 ecu
anywhere from 200+ hp to 400+ hp depending on the tune and injector size
and if you do this you have notch the block for the rods
price tag around 1500 to 2000 grand same as that b-swap

Why not use tt rods?? They are worth the money.

I say all the same stuff as above but with tuner toys rods and vitaras.

I don't think I would push ls rods to 300 - 400 hp either. The most I would push them to is around 270 ish. That's just my personal opinion though.

b18c1 hands down. better base. save your turbo and use that on your new gsr motor. sell your block and the rest.

you would be happy sititng around at least 250 with a decent "cheap" GSR build. you could do it cheaper then a well built D-series. i just bought a GSR for my civic. i have the same motor as you. the only thing i did to mine was put a SRI on it and raced 4 door taurus's... LMAO. i beat a few pickups in it too HA HA HA!

but seriously, you could get about 800 outta your y7 swap being built up a little and all. or part out all the parts, sell the block for 400 and the rest for 75% of what you paid. you'd be best off with that.

but thats just my opinion.
