Hey B, is there any way to tweak the rep system so that people have to actually pick something (approve or disapprove) before they hit send? I noticed that I've gotten a lot of people repping me lately, sometimes even leaving comments, but it looks like they didn't actually pick anything, so it's not contributing to my rating at all.

Anybody else notice this happening to them?

Not really a big deal, just wondering if anything could be done about it.

when i click on it,,it ask me if i approve or disapprove

Huh...yeah I'm looking at it now and I guess you do have to choose. What does it mean then when you're looking at the rep points you recently got and the little box is gray rather than green or red? Is gray negative rep then? I figured negative rep would show up as red? So am I actually getting lots of negative rep?

You get free rep by the way, since I used you to check, lol.

you can see your rep in your profile/CP.

it's meaningless, so don't get worked up about it.

-5000, 2, or 2321312321 points all mean the same thing: nothing

Oh yeah, I know. And I know you can check on who's giving you rep on your user page. I'm not actually worried about it, I was just wondering what it means when you're looking at your recent rep points and some of them are green and some are gray. Are the gray one's negatives? I figured a disapproval would be red.

But meh, whateva...like I said, just curious on how it works really, not actually worried about it.

Thanks though.

yea im actually curious as well...id think red would be neg..green is pos. but i havent gotten grey yet...also when i check my rep it only shows three of them..is there a way to see all of them??

the default setting is set to "approve". the more rep points someone has, the more it counts for. for example, if INJEN repped you, you might get 1 point. If i rep you, you get 3 points.

also, you get rep points based off of posts. it's minimal though, so don't post whore.

i think rep power is determined by a mathematical algorithm that incorporates the users post count, rep received, points and overall coolness

thats why yours is only 1
:)

points effect outgoing weight.

a user with high points can give you a couple rep power points from their approval

shut up before i kick you in the coin purse.

who is this B character you speak of?
