i bought a 99 hatch dx with the motor and tranny (95 b18b1) already swapped in it, but no wiring. i used an SI harness to wire it (some connectors werent used cause of no AC and PS). the car started at first for a lil, but not anymore. at first i thought it was the ignition (car came with push button). i changed it, and no good. then i thought it was the ECU (which is rewired to OBD1), but it worked with my friends EK civic. then i thought it was the distributor, but that wasent it either cause i changed 2 already and still dont start. there is a crank but no spark. im really getting frustrated and already thinking of selling the car cause of that. can anybody tell me what else it can be? wiring problem? thanks.

well we had a fuel problem. the thread under the fuel filter was bad so we changed some of the fule line with the filter. u think we might be losing fuel pressure? i might have to double check that cause thats a really good point. but we pulled out the plugs and no spark. any other suggestions? maybe wiring problem?

maybe i missed a ground wire somewhere? can that also be it? does anybody know the critical grounding points on a b18b1 to ek hatch swap? thanks

check grounds but i ran in to the same prob no spark and all wired up to obd1 spec turned out to be my ecu now im running a p28ecu chipped with type r map :) try a diff ecu but make sure u check the icm wire going to the dizzy as that sends the signal for the spark plugs to spark make sure u got ground on ur thermostat as well and engien and tranny hope this helps :D

check your fuses first. Under the hood there is a relay box. check all the fuses, especially the ECU fuse. If that all checks out ok, try doing a voltage drop test. Find out where your losing voltage. (that is if there is no spark). Try putting new wires, plugs, cap and rotor as well if the previous rec's dont work out.

he did say he got it running before, so that pretty much eliminates grounds and wiring... unless wires were corroded or damaged. but I think your problem is in the starting system.

yeh i think the wiring would be out of the options check the coils in the dizzy see if they are bad or just borrow someone elses but i thing its probs the ecu or the dizzy itself . the fuel relay has nothing to do with the car giving spark at the spark plugs
check the wire from pin A21 going to the dizzy icm module. check the link below for the wiring circuit :) its a pdf file if you dont have anything to open it with use FOXIT its faster than acrobat. hope this helps
