I'm lookin at buying a new cat-back exhaust, was looking at skunk2 or fujitsubo RM-01A. Was wondering what people thought of the two companies, experiences good or bad. I don't know much about the reputation of fujitsubo, and was wondering if someone could fill me in a bit.... thanks

budget is around $1000 and it's for a 92dx hatch, no mods, planning a B18c swap in the summer

just save the money and put a little away and wait til you do the swap. Thats my suggestion. If your not down with that go skunk 2.

If you're planning a motor swap in the summer then why worry about an exhaust right now? Depending on whether you leave the motor stock or build it at all, you may want a certain size of piping. I'd say just save your money towards the swap for right now.

And also, why are you limiting yourself to just two choices? There's plenty of other good exhaust options out there...

thanks for the replies.... but what reasons do you have for skunk 2.

Well, the reason for Skunk2 is obvious, they're a big name brand known for building reliable parts.

Seriously though, why the hell are you so worried about buying an exhaust system right now? A $1,000 exhaust system on a D15 isn't going to change the fact that it's a D15. It's still gonna be slow as molasses, just a lot louder.

Doing your exhaust before the swap doesn't really make sense. Your exhaust needs may change depending on your motor setup. Exhaust systems are sometimes designed with not just the chassis in mind, but also the motor that's going to be hooked up to. A system that's built for a DX engine making 90 horsepower may be too small for a more powerful motor.

And like I said before, there's lots more options out there besides just Skunk2 and Fujitsubo. I don't understand why you're so stuck on those two brands, especially since you barely even know anything about either of them.

If you're just going to keep asking the same dumb question over and over and not listen to any advice then I'm done with this thread...

I was lookin at an exhaust now because the original one needs to be replaced, and figured if it was being changed anyway why bother gettin another oe. as for pipe sizing since i wasn't going turbo, and I planned on stayin pretty mild so I was thinkin 2.25 at most 2.5 if i decided on gettin the head cleaned up. I'm still lookin at other companies these are just the 2 I wanted some feedback on. As for saving I don't need to. It's just winter and about 2 feet of snow outside, was just going to get it in the spring and swap it in the summer.

I have a skunk 2 and it is nice but louder than I expected. The gutted cat proabably has something to do with the noise factor. Other than that it fits perfect and is tucked up close to the car. I have only had it scrape on one speedbump.

i have the skunk2 as well. it is a little loud for my taste, but very high quality
