So I got the axe today. This is a really shitty story.
I got a ticket for a having a pistol in my car 4 years ago, paid it and everything was cleared. I have told all of my employers about it and when filing for my stockbrokers license with each company, they know all about it. Well, this time around, the company employment application was pretty complex and I thought the wording was for being incarcerated only, not just having a misdemeanor. I never went to jail so I thought I should mark "no". The HR department called me 3 weeks ago and asked me about the "incident" so I disclosed the whole story about it. They replied with an email saying that the issues was being handled.
So today i got an email saying that a had a meeting with my branch manager and supervisor at 8am. We had a conference call and they asked me if I had anything I didn't disclose. I told them about an issue I had with my degree and the whole gun story and that I had already told HR about it. They proceded to tell me that I omitted it off of my application and even though I told hr when question, i was forced into an "involuntary separation" for omittance of information. I was required to immediately return my key and id badge and be escorted out.
Fuck. So i talked with my manager and he is extremely disappointed. He said I was a rising star with the company and they are going to take a big loss by not having me anymore. It gets worse, they (HR) did say if i could get it removed from my record, they might still be able to hold my job. I called an attorney, and since it has been 3 years, if i pay $1000 i could get it removed. Well, I tell my manager about it, he makes some calls, and come to find out they wont take me back even if it's cleared.
I had to leave on the spot. I am not eligible for any insurance and unemployment is not an option. I'm blacklisted from Fidelity. Now i'm unemployed.
Cliffs:
gun charge cleared.
wrong box on application marked, told HR about it
still bad
cut like a fucking christmas tree a week before xmas.
