Junkyard Swap

I'm thinking of pulling a b18 out of an integra from the local junkyard, but its my first swap so i dont know what all to get when i pull the motor? Or should i just wait save $ to buy a b16?

I'm almost finished up with my first swap: D15B Vtec into my '93 Civic Ferio and I bought my complete swap with motor, trans, and ecu from Specializing in JDM-USDM Engines & Parts...hmotorsonline.com . I highly recommend them my motor is like new.

And if you DO get the b16 you'll have to buy the shift linkage and axles to go with it, and you might have to wire up vtec.

I would never get anything that goes under the hood from a junkyard but that's just me there's plenty who do it without problems. Just make sure if you DO get that junkyard swap you get the motor, tranny, ecu, and that all the sensors are intact and functional. Does it start? Run?

Buy the Honda Engine Swaps Book, its step by step and tell you what you will need and tells you how to mix match OEM honda part to make your engine fit like it was never swapped!!!

Yea the H22 will fit with some modification...it's heavy tho. I'd say for a quicker and much easier swap go with any B-series you want. If that's a working GSR motor for $100 you better jump on that shit.

Don't go for the h22 it is a taller, heavier motor and it comprimises handling. I would suggest going with the b18 like you were talking about.

Shit I'd suggest you be a hustler and buy that GSR for $100, clean it up and paint the valve cover, and sell it to someone on here for $300+ :D.

$100 bucks for a gsr LONGBLOCK ???!? what year gsr ? what year is that h22 also?? i say buy both the engines for $100 and clean em up,paint the valve covers, and sell them for 2k! or more. $100 for a b18 is a fckin steal. jump on it

damn i wish i could score a LS or even a H22 for that cheap!!..... while your at it, score the hubs and also the rear disc setup off the teg....can make lil money off someone

they do for sure. I had to redo my front calipers and didn't have the money to buy all new ones so I bought new gaskets and just went out and found a set on a civic in a junkyard. The whole thing coasted me like $40, thats including $20 for new pads. versus what it would have cost for new calipers, they work like they are new anyways. I had also planned on grabbing myself a y8 head but had to wait a couple days til I got paid again and went back and someone had already taken the head. :-( oh well. But for sure buy that B18, and keep that for your swap. Husstle the H22, and any other decent motors you can find in that place.

yeah dude junkyards come ih handy every now and then

that they might... but not in my local area, junkyards here are communist bastards..... they tend to know what they got, and also Hondas dont last to long in our yards cus ppl like me scope them on a weekly basis

Junkyards around here are lazy. I walked in and asked about 92-95 honda civics and they told me "The door's right there you can start lookin". I walked out and here I am standing in front of miles and miles of wreckage...took me an hour to find the civic with the fuel pump relay I needed. Then I walked all the way back and got the 10mm wrench to remove it lol.

honda's in my local junk yards don't last more than a weekend here. they sell like hot cakes. i'm lucky if i come across a sohc NON vtec honda! haha you lucky bas*ar*s lol
