love it. that is what my 360 has been saying lately.

That sucks dude... Sounds like its time for you to call up microsoft and cash in that nice 3 year warranty...

i got the best buy warranty also. just walk in with the broken console, walk out with a working one.

mine did that when i swapped the firmware so it would play burned games... haha... so i gave up and like a month later put the original bin firmware back on the system and it works like a charm to this day. But it doesnt sound like you did that...

nah i wouldnt hack the 360. i like online play too much.

yeah... i have been running burned disks for almost a year now and play online all the time. My account just expired yesterday and i dont have the funds to renew it but online worked like it was the original disk. All you have to do is burn the disks with a Kreon Stealth drive and microsoft doesnt know the difference :D

feel lucky because 75% of all 360 hacks become invalid with dashboard updates, and hard drives are getting banned more and more everyday.

something else to think about-

microsoft designed alot of the kiosks you see in stores today. notice they are pretty much all the same.... so is this microsoft's preferred method of "storing" the 360 on your entertainment stand? vertical?

i think that its retarded that they say you need to keep the 360 in an open space with lots of room so they dont overheat then they put it in that little plastic box at best buy thats just slightly bigger than the system and it works great... haha.. whatever... and i do think that the console gets better cooling standing up...

I think them turning it vertical is just for the "wow" factor. Mainly because the original box was just plain jane black. It only took microsoft about 5 or 6 days to get my 360 back from the repair center ;)

Encased in plastic? Well, I guess that would produce enough heat to keep the solder molten.

the guys at best buy told me to keep it vertical. I have never had a problem with it, but then again i really dont play it.

the guy at best buy also makes 7 bucks an hour. not to be trusted. kinda like geek squad and etc. i would never let those places touch my computer ;)

I had my 360s out in the open both on its side and laying down. I'm on my 5th 360
I think my newest one (sent to me from MS) is fine, I have it enclosed and laying on its side. its been 2-3 months now with zero issues. the other 360s lasted 2 of them less then 1 week and the rest 1-3 months.

As long as theres room for air to vent, it shouldn't matter how you store it.
bottom line, its a piece of shit product and thats that.

so i got my 360 working to play all my games with this little IT trick we use every now and again.

see the inner DVD drive metal cover? put two fingers in there like you're massaging the vaginal g-spot and push up a bit so it is bent a bit like sooooo.

forza and blue dragon disc 3 work like a charm now.

mine sometimes gives me the "quarter ring of death" (player 4 quadrant lights up red and I get an error). some times nothing at all happens when I start it.

But it only happens when cold, I reboot and boom it works, everytime

I own an elite, anybody else have that happen?
