last year was my first year doing auto x and i have looked at the scca regs for a long time now and cant find anything on dash removal if anyone has any idea what they are
i would appreciate it .. oh yeah for reference i'm running my rex in E prepared
thanks for the help

honestly i dont see why removing the dash would effect much..... but just be prepared to jump into a higher class, even removing the rear seats will jump you.... but all really depends on how strict the tech guys are.... ive had it where my car gets tech'd at the begining of the season then after that ive swapped out some better parts lol....

No really, you're an asshole. Why would you circumvent the rules in something as pointless as AutoXing. The point is having fun not winning, you get nothing for winning, there's no incentive to cheat unless you're just a self absorbed asshole.

@ goldwar - I only know the rules for SM2 well, since that's where I was running my CRX, but in that class you were required to have a full interior, which would include the dash. Since Prepared is a class less modified than SM, I would say you cannot remove any interior pieces and this seems to be supported by the rules.

Also, E prepared is probably not the best place for you. Unless you have enough cars in that class (there are none in the club I race in) you're going to get bumped into a higher class running with DSP, where you'll have some serious competition. Even if you go all the way to SM2 (if you did an engine swap or something) you couldn't remove the dash, so I'd say no, do not remove the dash. I won't do you much good anyway. You need to have a full interior for almost all classes.

who said anything about me winning? and i do autox strictly for fun.... besides the minor things i changed didnt effect how my car performed..... its not my fault that they were slack on tech inspections.....

next season on the other hand everything i do to my car will be documented so they atleast know whats going on........

what balls you ppl have to call me a dick, when you dont even know my personality..... but hey like i truely honestly care

well i was just wondering because i would like to get rid of as much weight as possible
so and in my class i can have a minimum weight of 1600 pounds and i'm at 1900 in my rex (89 si)

You can't strip the car to lower the weight. It is against the rules in that class to lighten your car. You cannot remove the sound deadening material or the carpets or the interior, you must run it with a stock interior.

well i have nothing in my rex and i passed tech last year.
the only thing i have is a strut bar, corbeau forza seats and courbeau 5 point camlock harnesses behind my dash and thats the way I like it. weight is the enemy man. this car is not a daily driver

never mind sorry i found what i was looking for.
H. All interior trim, dash boards, gauges, floor covering, carpet and
upholstery panels and similar non-performance comfort or convenience
items may be removed or replaced. page 109
oh yeah that baby's coming out

Really? Damn, I guess I don't know the rules as well as I thought. I know in SM you can't remove any of that stuff, I should just stick to what I know.
