Its not my listing it is a guy on craigslist.com in the denver, colorado area. I figured someone on here might be able to buy this car. He is asking $500. only 135,000 miles on the car/

anyone in denver, I am in the FTC.... know no one into imports..... ????

hey I'm into imports but my car is still at a buddy's house who is doing the engine swap for me. I know a lot bout cars but not quite enough to drop an engine in just yet.

You don't need to know much to swap an engine. Swapping in another compatible engine is the easy part. All I knew about cars before I did mine a few weeks ago was how to frickin drive and do an oil change. And I did my swap mostly by myself. Just do a lot of looking around research sites like this one. I searched for 5 months that's how long it took me to save up for my swap get a service manual too it'll help a lot.

The hard part is finding out why it won't work right after the swap I'm still having codes 10 and 14 to deal with.

lol I did that part. I took off my distributer, valve cover, head, exhaust manifold, intake and got stuck on some bolts on my power steering pump, I ended up breaking a bolt, and stripping the other for the fluid feed line. When I ran into that I moved onto other stuff, I took off the radiator hose clamps, and anything else I could find that I knew I wouldn't mess up. I later snapped a craftsman socket, and decided I would leave it up to the pros. maybe next time around I will go for it. I have heard a D 2 D swap is the easiest swap you can do.

Whoa whoa what? Why did you take parts off the motor itself

Dude a D2D swap is super easy.

-Drain fluids oil, tranny, p/s
-relieve fuel system pressure at the firewall
-disconnect all hoses/vacuum lines/electrical plugs
-jack up the car or put it on a lift
-remove front wheels
-remove wheel bearing nut
-remove damper forks
-break the lower control arms loose from balljoint sockets
-swing the steering knuckles and hub assemblies out and remove them from the axels
-pry out the axels from the intermediate shaft
-disconnect shift linkage, ext. rod just unbolts right off, the shift rod has a pain-in-the-ass spring pin you need an 8mm punch to punch it out
-attach hoist to the motor and take up the slack while you undo the motor mounts and then it comes right out!

That's it I remember the process like the back of my hand...mainly because I used the wrong wiring harness and had to pull the new motor out twice after already removing the old one, but that's it and to put in the new one is the reverse of that process.

Also you have to remove the a/c condensor to get that bolt out of the way from the fender and I just left my a/c out since I'm going turbo anyway.

Oh I see. Still, it'd be much easier to get those parts off the old motor if it was on the hoist at your own level, and the motor would already be out of the car.
