What a fine way to start off the new year than by getting rear-ended by someone on your way to work!

Luckily I have a truck - with a hitch, so you can imagine the damage it caused to this guys maxima. I have a little scratch on my bumper but my back is killing me right now. It all happened on the highway - traffic was coming to a slow but this guy didn't seem to pay attention and SMACK - probably 40mph or so into me. I had looked up and actually saw it happen so as he hit me I jammed on my brakes to alleviate going into the person in front of me.

I have to call the insurance company and all that fun stuff now... :(
 
don't wait to go to the docs. if your back is killing you go asap, you need to document the problems if you want insurance to pay medical, and/or any missed work bc of it.
 
They can issue some good drugs too. :D

No seriously, I agree with nootrac. Might as well get yourself checked out ASAP.
 
man im glad you are OK. i also say go see a doctor ASAP. might be able to squeeze some extra money out of the guys' insurance company for "pain and suffering"

Even if you are not an asshole, go to the doc and get it all documented.

If you have horrid back problems and need major treatment/get disabled in 5 years, you need to be able to collect.
 
I thought about it after driving away - should have snapped a few with my camera phone :(

Going to be issuing a claim with the guys insurance company, mine said to go to the doctor's tonight...
 
That sucks.

I had someone rear end me a few weeks ago; but I did the opposite of what you did; I let off the brake a little and turned the wheel so I wouldn't hit the guy in front of me. The front end of her Galant was messed up but the rear of my car(96 Concorde) only had a bent license plate and some scratch and scuff marks.
 
Liability Adjuster is due to arrive at the house (I work at home on Friday's) around 12:45. I'll find out whats the dealio then....
