Well it starts the week before Christmas. I was finishing up on the last few days of my internship, when I started to come down with something. I started to get fevers, bad head and muscle aches, glands swelled, and through got sore. I finally went to the doc the day after christmas. Turns out I have mono :fuck: Doc says to take it easy for a few weeks, and no training for my up coming collegiate road bike race season for at least a few weeks, maybe even a month. That sucks...

Well I started to feel a better, and I have to move alot of my big stuff from my parents house to school (10 hours away) so I take their Honda Element since I can't fit shit in my del Sol. I get up there in decent time, despite snow. I'm moving into a new place, and my house mates were suppose to put a key in the BBQ out back. I show up there, and of course its not there. No big deal, I'll just drop my stuff off at my fraternity house across town. All the doors are locked there so I have to slip in a window. Drop everything off, sleep there for the night and next day I am on my way.

Almost all the way through the UP of MI, I am at the intersection of 2 country roads in the left hand turn lane, and there is a big new GMC 2500 HD Pickup with a trailer hitch/yolk in front of me. We're waiting for traffic to clear. There is a semi on the other road turning onto ours, so he throws it in reverse without checking his mirrors and backs up right into me.

I get out, and I am pissing coolant all over. Fuck. I am about 60-80 miles from anything that resembles anything of a real town. Cops come and write him up at fault. A tow truck shows up from a tiny shop about 3 miles away. Since were in the middle of no where, he gets all his parts via UPS, so its not going to be fixed for days, maybe even a week or so. The shop owner starts calling differnt rent a car places "around" (anywhere in 100 mile radius) with little luck. Everyone was either closed or didn't have any cars until tomorrow. We finally decide to go with this place like 70 miles away that will have a car in the morning. The shop owner was nice enough to offer a ride to the town. He drops me off at the hotel across the street from the car rental place, and I get a room for the night. Only one left, smoking room (blah) for $120. Whatever.

Next day I get the car (shitty cobalt with the SHITTIEST felling brakes) and finally finish my journey.

My dad talks to the repair shop yesterday, turns out the damn trailer hitch took out the grill, condenser, radiator, trans cooler, and brackets for all those things, along with smashing the radiator fan. AAA appraised the damage at about 3,000, and the shop won't get the parts until next week.

:cliffs: I got mono, no biking for me. Then get hit in my parents Element in the middle of nowhere while standing still and get 3,000 in damages.

I guess I just have a lot of adventures coming too and from schools involving dumbasses. My "new car" (93 del sol S) is doing fine though.
