well, i just finished the tear down (sorta) on my GSR.
pulled the tranny (S80) off, all the cut up hoses and junk, pulled the headers off, power steering pump, ... all kinds of crap.
upon removing the intake tube, i noticed a thick black goo coming out of the throttle body and intake manifold for that matter. It appears to be like really old oil something.
... would they put that in there to keep the motor from rusting and seizing up by chance?
Did it maybe get tipped on its side/upside down and dump into the intake manifold by chance?
man i hope nothing is wrong with this thing. Im gonna pull off the intake manifold tomorrow night and clean it out and see if i can see wtf is going on.
ill tell you .. this thing has been a son of a bitch to deal with with no cherry picker or engine stand/hoist. I just went and bought one 3 hours after i was into this whole deal .. lol.. what a idiot. anyways, the engine will be ready tomorrow for a coat of ceramic coating. if i feel up to it, ill take it to work and just powder coat the block and misc. pieces.
anyone know what header/exhaust i need for this thing. i would like to keep make this so its all bolt up into my car. i dont want to have to go have custom exhaust welded up on my car to make things fit.
oh! and anyone have a diagram/schematic of how to wire up a GSR to a DX 97 Ek
thanks HEH
