i have an h22 and my compression is 13:1 would it be safe to run nitrous on it, and if so what size shot. i have way to much money into this build to blow it!

holy hell man! 13:1? so you must have a good bit of money into that motor. Do you want to go wet or dry?

Nitrous actually works well with high compression. Your shot should be wet, and in moderation to your fuel system. With 13:1 compression I would hope you have bigger injectors. Depending on the shot and your current injectors duty cycle, you may need to go bigger. A fuel pump is needed for this as well. 75-100 shot if the engine has stronger valvetrain and valves/springs.

Tuning is a very very important part of nitrous. You will need to retard the timing and run colder plugs. Tuned it should run well without many chances of detonation. When tuning for nitrous, you lose some power from the naturally aspirated side, which is one downside to nitrous on NA engines built for more power.

i have 450cc injectors and an areomotive fuel pump, i also have all titanium valves and springs. will the ngk iridium plugs be ok. and i have a motec engine managment i will still loose power????? ah the questions of nitrous!

Titanium valves? wtf bro. You are running a Motec engine management with only 450's? That sounds like a waste. You sure your not drinking the "kool-aid" right now?

i meant valve springs not valves and springs sorry, no kool-aid right now. whats wrong with the injectors should i be running bigger ones?

Yes, run a wet direct port nitrous kit, running a big shot you need to evenly distribute the fuel/n2o, you could actually run a 2-250 shot, if all assembled correctly, the primo set-up would be to get a duel stage n2o kit, this kit lets you adjust nitrous volume in stages. 250 shot is alot off the line, even w/ some M/H's. So you would break it up, say 100 off the line then have the other 150 kick in the middle of 2nd gear, or how ever youd like to break it up, its adjustable. With the correct tuning there should be no reason to blow up that being the plus of a e.m.s, motec. w/ the ability to adjust fuel curves, air/fuel mix and ect. theres alot more potential to be shown with this kinda set up. At this time it sounds like the motec maybe a lil over kill, just opinion
good luck ;)

DP is your best bet for this situation. Remember, the ring gap for NA and Nitrous are different. If you were planning on doing NA only id have your rings regapped for nitrous.

But yeah, 13:1 on nitrous happends...just not to daily drivers.

Depending on your build, the size jet you plan on using when spraying (I.E., single fogger, one jet for fuel, one jet for Nitrous). 250 shot on a honda engine is far from the norm. My all motor lsvtec had rc 310's in it and that was just all motor. I recommend the Zex kit for you. Spray 75-100 shot with it tuned for the nitrous. Tuning is key. You need to run colder plugs which Zex sometimes provides you. Their module will take care of the timing while spraying as well as monitor the a/f ratio for lean conditions. Bottom line, its safe and easy. Also as specified earler by Reikoshea, the rings have to be gapped more for nitrous. Exact specifications I do not have, but do some research and contact Zex and they will supply all the information you will need.

"Zex is a great kit also", I just thought for a 13:1 compression, "built" motor" like this, obviously costing some $$, running a shot like 75-100 would be kinda a waste. Given that any B series is capable of this,, stock! w/few items like a fuel pressure regulator, inline fuel pump and some colder N.G.K's. "Im just saying that, if the motors built, like I would a 13:1 powerplant, a 100 shot would just be teasing it." Back on track though, both of these options being good ones, it being up to what you would be comfortable having, saying yeah, the ZEX probably being a little less maintenance. ^_^

well i have the aem fuel rail and aem pressure regulator, and i have an areomotive external fuel pump. i just purchased 550 injectors and a direct-port wet nitrous system from a guy in p.a. two days ago, its an nos system, is the zex better or something cause a dont know to much about the company?

NOS, Zex, and NX all make comperable systems. Ive only worked with Zex, but i know a buddy of mine had an NX system on his Mustang. He never had any problems (with the nitrous).

It all depends on the build, period. Cast piston's dont take well to nitrous, high compression or not. The ring's have to be gapped differently, as opposed to naturally aspirated. With 13:1 compression, I wouldn't call a 100 shot of nitrous, "teasing". That is plenty of nitrous for that much compression, anything more would be flirting with combustable death. Not much maintainence with nitrous, just check the plugs frequently if using the Zex kit. It takes care of the timing so you do not have to make dramatic changes that may affect how efficient your burn will be on the bottle.

Well i bought a nos kit from a guy, and it has a 75 nozzle and a 125 nozzle, so i dont know which i should run. its a direct port.

like throwing stick of dynomite into you cylinders.

cant wait to see the end result. I hope this isnt a daily driver. If so you might want to look into another car. Not doubting you but possibility of blowing up should be considered. I'm not to fond of nitrous, especially when one has simple qustions that he or she should already know BEFORE even considering putting it in his car.

Good luck man. Post video or something. I would like to hear a 13.1. cmpression h22.

Is it a wet or dry kit??

Wet kits like the ones from zex are MUCH safer.

well its a NOS direct port wet nitrous kit. and the only reason that i have questions about it is because my tuner was wanting to put it on, i dont know that much about it and i wanted to know what i was in store for. and my tuner was saying that he would run between a 75 and a 125 shot, its not that i dont trust him but he thinks up some crazy shit sometimes, thats all. Thanks to everyone for the help, i cant wait to get this thing cracking.
