well i just bought a digital SLR and it takes CF as most do. my question is what are the advantages of cf over microdrive it seams to me that flash media would be better less chance of it breaking but micro drives seam to be new and cost more than a CF card what might the advantage of one be over the other

I am a yearbook adviser with 7 canon digital rebel xt/xti in my inventory. One of them has a micrdrive the other have anywhere from 1-4 gig cards. I have never had an issue with either format. I personally would go with CF card because of the lack of moving parts and they are more reliable. My 4 gig card holds roughly a thousand photos in TV/M/Auto modes. I have never used the entire card at one event.
