could someone give me the link to swapn a b16a motor into a 99 civic si iv heard lots of diff stories bout doing it i just need some straight answers before i buy this motor. iv heard the motor will mount up but id have to switch dizzys from my old si motor i need a cheap swap im tryn to sell this car its just to many problems and the sir is a cheap motor to buy also my si tranny is still good but heard the sir is cable and my si is hydrolic could someone please give me some details on what i need to do
 
what year/obd is the motor? there's about 7 b16a's

more so, why are you swapping a b16 motor into a car that came with one???? :confused:
 
oh motor knockn pretty sure bottom end is gone and its hard to find a short block around ks if not that any where everyone wants to sale a long block currently have a ls vtec in it and i dont wanna spend the money on another frankenstine

if theres a ls/vtec in it already why not sale it like that
 
sorry u didnt catch on to that post currently has an ls v-tec but its knockn pretty bad so i know rob or crank most of went and im sure with that piston must have messd up the walls so bottom end is gone it has a gsr head on it but i cant find any short blocks or else id go that rout so there for i wanna do a cheap swap which bring me to buyin a b16 92-95 sir motor only my tranny is still good so my ?''s are will the 99 si tranny bolt up to a 92-95 sir and what other parts or complications will i come across with swapn that motor into my 99 si

yes your tranny will bolt right to it,, but if your head is ok, id just buy the cheapest b series i could and put the head on it, just to get the car sold
 
so ur sayn a 94 gsr head will bolt to any b series short block? without running into any other problems? can any one else comfirm this?
 
It will bolt right up to any b-series block. The only catch is if its already a vtec block or not. If its a vtec block then just bolt up. If not, you'll have to get the head tap and run a oil line for vtec( ls/b20 blocks)
 
yea i already have an ls vtec really dont want another one best bet is to find a vtec block thanks guys

among other things, like upgrading oil/water pumps and the dowel pins must be switched.
 
yea the motor that just went out was a ls vtec woth 94 gsr block and 94 ls block with polished crank egale rods ctr pistons and b16 internals oil water pump etc and i dont wanna go that way again but thanks for the info ill get some pics up eventually

Normally if they were stock, you would use the head studs originally for your block. I'm not to sure if I would in this case..
 
have u read anything i wrote or anything any one else wrote ur a fucktard for not payn attention.that question has been asked and answerd. if u anit got nothing positive to say bout my questions get off my thread.
