Hello everyone at HS. New to the forums, not to Honda's by any means. I've got a couple questions regarding my latest Honda endeavor...swapping my 240K+ mile engine for a fresh, fully built LS-Vtec + Turbo. This will be my first Del Sol swap, and just have a couple questions:

Any major "unforseen" problems?
Engine Mounts: Better to get an engine mount kit, or reweld existing mounts?

Any help from someone who has completed a B series swap into a Del Sol would be appreciated!

im pretty sure u would need conversion mounts.... hasports has them or u can go with the crapy ebay ones... but if u need anymore advice i just buildt my n/a ls/vtec about 7 months ago... pm me or anything and ill help ya

Good to see some actual substance to this site... I must say I have not been impressed thus far, reading through some of the other threads.

She's got a D15B7. 240+k miles, so she's ready for a new heart.

well while your at it you might as well do it right,, your gona need new mounts, ecu, shift linkage, axles, and thats about it,,what year is the head thats going on the ls/vtec

Thats what I thought... I've got the ECU, as well a dizzy to mate up with the 89' B16 head. Head is built with Crower titanium springs/retainers, Ferrera stainless oversized valves, and a mild port job. Block is waiting for forged rods/pistons. Should go nicely with the T3/T4:)

Thanks for the useful advice!

keep in mind you will have to convert it to, obdo and you will have to run a few new wires for vtec,..i hate wires myself i just call rywire and tell them what i got and what i want and they make it for me lol

Yeah, it's going to be a complete swap. Essentially gutting the bay and replacing everything else haha.

Tell me more about this rywire place...never heard of them before.

well rywire came along after all my sore fingers from wiring over the years lol,, but any how..they can make anything you want or need and 98% of the tiem they have already done what you need so its a fast turn around time.just call or email them ..Rywire - Online Store

If its going into a del sol, you will have to convert it to obd1.

obd1 distributor
obd1 injector clips
obd1 manifold (from 92-95 civic sir2, aftermarket will also work)
obd1 vtec ecu (which you should already have)
hydraulic b-series transmission
mount kit, axles, shift linkage etc.

some engine harness clips may need to be cut and obd1 clips will be needed.

Also, if you buy an aftermarket intake manifold/tb, you will have to plug up the coolant neck for the FITV.

the sol came non vtec, and hes using a obdo head, but it would be easier to convert it to obd1

I've got an OBD1 B16 JDM ECU and Dizzy. Also have a B series intake manni/fuel rail/injectors, and LS tranny.

Still need mounts, linkage, axles.

I just sent Rywires an email. Thanks for the heads up!

in my 94 hatch (right now), I have a complete obd0 b16a swap with a cable transmission. Don't ask, I unfortunately bought it for its beautfully mint shell, not the wacky swap. WTF wants cable in a hydro car?

It will all be worth it, though. I drove the car 800 miles to my new home, and in that time, she burned through 4 qts of oil!! The compression is good in all 4 cyl, but she just leaks bad. I'm ready to swap the engine and get another 1/4 million miles out of her.
