it might be a stupid question but ive never heard of anyone do the f20 swap in a del sol so i was just wondering if it would work and if i could get mounts and from where?
thanks

F20B is the same as a H22A(pretty much a destroked H22A). Get mounts for a H-series into EG; Hasport and many others should have them.

You still haven't decided on a motor yet??? You've asked for info on pretty much every swap possible into your car...

Anyways, yeah, it's just like an H22 swap, so you need mounts the mounts for putting an H22 into your car.

thanks
and yeah im still trying to decide but i like the f20 cuz its japanese and i wanna go full jdm (without actually buying a japanese del sol) but that you all your info was helpful.

a real deal jdm del sol came with a b16a

Very true, and a B16 would also be an easier swap than the F20B. Also, if you're wanting a JDM motor, you can get a Japanese version of pretty much anything we have here (B16, B18B/C, H22, etc.).

Just some things to think about...

yeah im also thinking about a h22 cuz one of my friends has a h22 swap in his 94 hatch but idk about the power difference and i just want to be different you know?? like i wanna be the first to have a f20 in a del sol unless some one else has seen one then tell me an ill go h22

Yeah I understand wanting to be different. The only problem with using some obscure JDM motor is that parts may be harder to find. Parts from an H22 would probably work most of the time, but if you need some obscure parts that's specific only to the F20B, then you might be hard pressed to find it.

Why don't you get a D16A if you want to be different?? Trust me... NO one you know would have one in their del sol.

Yup! someone correct me if I'm wrong but it should bolt right up but they are soo damn cheap why not just get a whole swap? You can get a whole swap for about 750 bucks.

i was looking around last night and i found just the engine for 700 so i could just rebuild my trans. but will it be able to handle more power than my d16z6?? thats the only reason im gonna swap my engine.

i know im switching motors all the time but i wanna know what would do best in my car... what about a b18b would that be better that a zc

Which engine are you talking about? F20B? A ZC?

A ZC or another D-series will bolt up to your tranny, but an F20B won't.

Also, transmission re-building can be expensive. If you can get the transmission with your swap motor, then I would just go ahead and do that. That way you know the gear ratios will match up nicely to the motor's power band.

As for your other question, in my opinion, yes, the B18B is much better than a dual-cam ZC. If you go with the B18 however, you will need to use a B-series transmission.
