i just bought a TD04 turbo kit from a friend of mine, When i finally received it i was looking at it and noticed i couldn't move the wastegate bar. Is this a problem? Should i be able to move it by myself?

Well the aping in there is like an 11 psi spring so it should be fine

I heard some people get 11 psi but commonly your looking at 6-8 psi. I'm acually putting a td04 on my car next month.

The waste gate arm is a BITCH to move. To test it use a large suringe on the end of the hose to creat vacume

Sorry about the spelling

i tested it and the wastegate actuator moved with the i had 11 psi. i guess what i need to know now is how to lower the psi to the 6-8 psi range.

You can run that turbo to 22psi, and you can even mod it and make it hold 28psi, and doin that is still cheaper than buying a bigger turbo. They spool fast too, they can make a real nice setup.

Yeah with porting the compressor housing buying the 16g or 18g compressor wheel. Might as well have it rebuilt while you've got it apart so you looking at at least $200 or you could just buy a real 16g

Yeah i knew they were a good turbo but how can i lower the psi? Can't you cut the actuator bar, thread it, and but a long nut in there. I though if the bar was longer it might lower the psi by leaving the wastegate flapper open.
