Injector type differences?

Hello guys,

Hopefully someone out there can give me a definite answer on this. I’m just in the middle of dropping a B16B Type R engine into my EG6.
Does anyone no if the injectors are the same for a B16A2 engine and a B16B engine. The only noticeable difference I can see are the injector plugs. The B16A2 injector has OBD 1 type of plug and the B16B has a OBD 2 type of plug. Just wondering if both are the exact same other than the plug type. From research on this forum I see both engines have 240cc fully saturated injectors.
Planning to run the B16A2 injectors on the B16B engine due to wiring issues. I’d just like to confirm if there are any sneaky differences or restrictions I should be aware off.

Many thanks.

Im in the same situation , actually I would like to know if there is a way to know the injector size . and I need to find out if accord vtec has bigger injectors or are the same as my b16 ones

I believe they are both 240cc, saturated. The clips are different, the injector's are pretty much the same.

Ya man. They should be 240cc injectors and the only diff should be the clips. My bro swapped in a b16a obd1 into his 98 civic and used his stock obd2 injectors from his d16y8.

Cheers guys, thanks for the info. Looks like they are the same, which saves me having to cut and solder the plugs.
Just out of interest, what is the story with injectors? Is it a case of that they work or they don’t. The injectors I have came from a 1991 car and they are running in a 1997 engine. Just wondering if the older the injector does it perform less or does the older injector have a significant drop in performance.

Since the injectors are off the rail, might as well test them for continuity to make sure they will work. Use a multi-meter to do this. Search the threads, there should be a link to doing this. Too tired to explain it. :(

yea they are the same, just the injector clips are different. I know as i found that out tonight when i just put on a B16A2 head onto a B18B1 block.
