Hey everyone im new to the forums here.
Im getting my tax return back sometime soon and im looking to get an Integra and use my tax return money to boost it...im trying to decide which route to take.
First ill tell you what my goals are....i want to around low 13's high 12's.
I know GSR's have more power but they also cost more for just the car. However i do not know if the non-GSR Integra's are built as strong either.

Help me!! haha

Thanks in advance.

Just the turbo...
i really dont know what all needs to be done to get it into the low 13's high 12's...what all does need to be done??

RESEARCH... is what needs to be done.... rebuild it.. arp bolts. new bearings... head work..... new intake manifold... thats what i would do... why not do it right the first time....

well i plan on doing all of that soon but i want to get a turbo on it with the tax return money im getting.....after that im going to save up to fully rebuild the engine and upgrade whatever needs to be upgraded.

No, that's not how you do it. You should be planning your engine build and prepping the motor first, not rebuilding the motor after you've already boosted the hell out of it and torn it all up.

Be smart, do your research and build your engine first. That way you won't have to be buying another engine block a few months down the road.

Listen to this man.

Read, read and then read some more. Ask questions. The forum has been very helpful and responsive with questions. I can recomend several books that i have poured through. Also take a look at some of my threads there are a lot of entry level questions and good answers worth looking at.

Its all a matter of what you want and what you have to invest. If you are going to pay someone else to do all the work you might as well sell the car you have and go out and buy one that has the mods you want on it already. You will save a lot more money in the long run that you can send to me to build my integra :D.

Seriously though...

There are some things that will need a machine shop and just cant be gotten around. Beyond that its all a matter of how much you want to have others do and how much you want to do yourself.

Make a plan.

I still have yet to post the build for what i want to do to my GS-R because i am reading and researching and learning. I have plenty of work that needs to be done on the body, suspension and interior in the mean time.

Its not a matter of slapping a turbo on an engine. Granted it can be if you are gonna run low boost and just want to have a turbo. A purpose built turbo engine is going to be different from a purpose built all motor engine.

What condition is your motor in anyway? Do you really need to totally rebuild it or do you just need to replace gaskets and such?

Then there is the cost of tools...

Work space...

Weather. I once pop riveted sheet metal over rusted floorboards into a 77 monte carlo out on the street in front of my house in january in boston. Can you say S - U - C - K?

10mm is very handy on a 94 Integra :p

Its All About How U Build Both Motors, Both Can Be Capabile To Smoke Each Other But Really I Would Go With Gsr Because Its Already Tuned At 180hp B18c1 B18a1 Or B1 Has 130-142 Tuned So Gsr Has Around 42 More Hosre An A Bit More Torque Lol

but the gsr also have more compression,,witch is bad for boost..so it will mess up faster

You do not have to build your motor to hit high 13's. Just get it tuned by someone who knows hondas, not any local shop. as for gsr vs. ls it all depends on what you are looking to spend on a car. Either one is more than capable to hit 13's bone stock with a turbo setup gsr does have higher compression but if its tuned right it won't hurt the motor. The gsr has a block girdle stock which strengthens the block, also vtec which will give you a longer power band. So if you have the money go GSR. Its a all around better car and motor.

what part of the county you from there are plenty of shops out there that know what their doing you should really call them and ask them first before you just go by a turbo kit and put it on and blow that shit up my mortor rebuild has cost me 4,000 so far and thats for the motor rebuild so you should really think about what your gonna do before you go by anything and how much horse power are you wanting get the time is easy especially for the 13's

go gsr and about how much it costs to rebuild a motor thats up to you and what exsctly you want to do to it and your hp goals!!
also about the gsr having more compression and messing up faster thats true execpt for the fact that any motor will mess up if it doesnt have a good tune!! and plus he said he wanted to rebuild it so what does compression matter???
and when you rebuild if you plan on making good horsepower on whatever motor you decide to get make sure you sleeve the block before you do anything then get rods and piston kit bearings new gaskets and a valvetrain and maybe some ctr or itr cams and for tranny get a good clutch and a quiffe or similar lsd and your set to run 12s if built properly well G/L
