FALCON PUNCH!!!
I snagged a geForce 6600GT AGP video card with YPbPr out for some 1080i Mythy goodness. Anyway, I installed the card, had a console and low res X running on component without any issues whatsoever. Very melon!

Threw a 1080i modeline at it, and the card never came back.

The screen went completely garbled and stayed that way. No amount of reboots or interface changes (VGA, S-Vid, composite, DVI) will bring it back. Very shit.

Can a modeline nuke a card? The box still boots with the card present, but the display is f00bared. Any way to bring it around?

maybe try making a small partition on one disk and start from scratch just to try it out? does it go through POST looking normal? or is the text still all fux0red?

wtf is AGP? lol

yeah, sounds like the card shat itself.

Sadly so I think :(

I picked up a DVI to HDMI adapter, and wow it makes a HUGE difference versus VGA. 720p is sharp and bright. I am working on some 1080i modelines, but I am not sure if I will like the interlaced higher resolution over the progressive lower.

why not 1080p? why is there such a huge difference between i and p? i mean i know what i/p stands for and everything but if you are going 1080 why not go the full distance?

My TV is a 1080i unit. If I could go full 1080p, I would.

oh lol. i saw "my tv" and thought myth lol.
