99dxswap

whatttt, 4 t's bitch
So I have been Waiting for a work bonus to get my ride done... Went to the shop last night, my cousin is cool bud's with the owner. He said bring it in next week, 2200.. for the complete swap. Gsr.... I think thast a smoking deal....

Got my front lip in today as well... Also went and got a camera , so I will post b-4 and after's for you guys in the coming days...

I'm pretty pumped about this....

for the same price, i would rather have a turbo b-series than an N/A K-series. Cool motors though.

Why?? The K would probably outrun the Turbo Bseries with a few add-ons, staying n/a of course.

I mean I have a b16a and love it, but I know the K is far superior.

umm....no. if you turbo a b18c, you can get 300hp out of it with more tq. the most you will get out of an all motor K with a lot of work is about 200-240.
i thought the complete changeovers were 3250
now they're 2999
i haven't priced a honda motor is a long ass time
that is a killer deal though. i remember they used to be a lot more.

Oh....lol.....ok then.

Then how do the new Si's have 197hp out of a stock k20?? You're telling me with bolt-ons and some cams that a k20 won't make more than 240hp??

even if you do, you will spend more than $3k to get to those numbers. cams and i/h/e are expensive for that. yes, you can get up to 240. not for the same amount as a b-series turbo. and it still wont have as much power as the b-series turbo.

honestly, i would love to have a k. but for the price and power numbers, a turbo-b makes more sense.

I don't see how bolt ons and a set of cams/injectors maybe would total $3k, but I rest my case....no point in debating it.

I'd rather have a k anyday, far more reliable than a turbo-b ever thought about being....of course you can make it reliable, but theres more to tear up and tons more heat with a turbo setup.

Well, porting and polishing your head at a decent shop will cost at least $1000. Another $1200 in head components, + bolt ons = total of more than 3K.

From what i've seen, unless you are going extreme, there isn't much improvement to be had from messing with the head of a k-series.

yup, that is for the motor swap and install. The motor is coming from the owner of the shop. He pulled it from his 99 teg. Putting in a k-series. So I will gladly take it. Ecu and everything from the teg is going into my car this week......
