Anyone out there ever do a Type R JDM conversion?

I was looking at the parts i would need to rebuild my USDM GS-R and adding up the numbers. I happened to see a JDM conversion that was a bit less than what i had added up so far. It's not as radical as an entire right hand drive conversion as it begins at the radiator support.

This unit is from the 2000 model and my GS-R is a 1994.

Never considered this type of mod just wondering if anyone had any experiance that might help.
 
I have a JDM front on my 01 GS. I am not too sure what you are asking... I don't have RHD or anything but I do have the front end. It costs alot after parts and paint, try to go through insurance if you can, mine came to close to $5000.
 
Put plainly I´m wondering how much welding would be involved. I´ve pounded out some dents and slung a little bondo in my time but i´ve never gotten deeper into body work than that.

How much hassle is it to add the front radiator support?
 
I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to autobody repair I had it done professionally, Sorry I am no help.

Radiator support is a straight swap, unbolt, re-bolt. The rest bolts right on too.
 
its easy..took us less than 1 day....

take off hood, bumper, lights, side skirts, fenders, bumper support.

drill out spot welds on "T" bar(radiator support) (roughly about 15 or so....just those little circles that connect it to the bar underneathe it)

take new T bar and place it on top DO NOT WELD IT YET!

loosely bolt up fenders and hood (prop it up so its on but not in the way). at the end of the T bar on both sides are little raised squares where the fenders bolt up, make sure to bolt the fenders into those and that they are flush first before you do what i did and its crooked :( (still looks cherry though!)

make sure it looks like the lights and everything are going to fit then weld that thing on....the bottom, by the hood latch and the ends is all thats really needed....where the most innerparts of the lights can also be done....

bolt up the bumper support and bumper. takes a little messing around with the bumper support to get it nice and flush with the lights and grill piece, but its easy.

follow the light harnesses and wire those correctly....and viola! JDM ITR front FTW!!!
