OK, so i have a d15b8 block with d16z6 head. Is there anywhere to get pistons and rods that fit a d15b8. I see alot of d15b2 and d15b7 but nowhere have i seen pistons and rods for a d15b8. Any info would be great guys. You haven't let me down yet.

Very good point. Another problem i have is where to get a block from. I had a chance to buy a d16 block for 150 but took to long and the opportunity passed me by. Any places or websites that would have a d16 block at a reasonable price?

Any idea what kind of numbers a mini-me swap puts out? I know a few people that are either wanting to or have already done the swap but no one is talking numbers at all. haha

Lets put it like this. A mini-me swap is a good upgrade if you're looking to do something simple and cheap to give your non-vtec some more pep. BUt the fact of the matter is this, i've put a fair amount of money into the head (cam, cam gear, valve job, etc. and it is simply not very powerful. Blanco is right in saying i should get the bottom end. I can make much more power and it will be easier to upgrade. As for power numbers, i would assume barely over 100 hp even with the upgrades i have

I'll sell you the pistons and rods out of a D15B2 if you want them. Flat tops with high compression heights are good for compression. ;)

i think hondatuning did that in one of last years issues for the super- d project....

HondaTuning did a D17 stroker. I heard it blew up on the dyno and another one was built.

IIRC, the D17 has a narrower BE-width. Not positive on that though.

Thanks for the info. I've been dying to have an idea of the power it makes. Now I know and knowing is half the batt...errr, you get the idea. :D

How much power are you looking to make? With some modifying you can use B18A1 rods in a D-series engine, and they're good for up to 300 horses. You can probably find a set of those and get them machined to fit for $200, cheaper than any after-market rods. If you're looking to make like 400 horses though then you'll need after-market.

I think FJT is getting some D15B(non VTEC) rods made that are comparable to the Eagle/TT H-beams.

hey i got a d15b7 m0t0r and i was wondering if you can put a sohc vtec heads on it.... like the d15z series head on it....... is this possible???? if so what else would i need to upgrade?????????

I have a d16y7 block I would sell for cheap. it threw a rod but the block is rebuildable. It would be ideal for anyone looking to rebuild the block. I'm asking like $75, but I will take any offer.
