350z+ 3 passengers= human airbag.

im guessing the survivor lived bc the kid in his lap took the force of the blow.

they should start using a nice thick cane on the parents.

getting a license should be harder. dont raise the age limit though. the test should be harder. too many drivers not up to par. think now that they've past the driving test, they also got a class A racing license... or they just truely are not prepared for some of driving's more extreme situations. never once has spin recovery been part of our state's driving test.

haha, i totally agree with this one. i think they should start by making the test in english only. i don't know how many times i've seen mexicans taking the test using the phone as a translator. if the stupid fucking book is in english, do you think they read it before they took the test??? haha, no.

also, i think a drivers license should cost more. and driving with no license should be a harsher penalty.

lol i ment more the driving portion of the test. the written test for identifying signs and braking distances is alright. you really cant ask many specific questions. i dont remember how many feet it takes for a fully loaded truck to stop.

the driving portion should be harder imo. too many wrecks because 2 people were changing lanes into the same lane next to each other at the same time, and then one of them over compinsates his reaction away back to their lane, and spins out going 70 on the highway. or stupid 16y/o's that miss a shift on a straight road and somehow lose control and spin out into a ditch. i know some of you have seen that video. that's just dumb.

maybe a 'darwin' portion of the test to weed out those that shouldnt be alive before they take any more smart ones' lives' with them. lol

the driving test does need to be harder also. but it would be hard to get the administrators to actually care about the test. shit, they don't care because they make $10/hr.

the problem is that drivers ed teaches kids how to park and drive 30 mph.

i'm a firm beleiver that every kid should do a 3-day skip barber class, or something like it.

learn how to CONTROL drifts in the rain and understand fundamentals of understeer, oversteer, trail braking, and all the rest.

nope, we teach them how to do k turns....

speaking of this story I was crusing with my buddy in his 93 mustang 5.0 body style, it began to snow. snow sucks in a rear wheel drive car, especially when he is just about to buy brand new tires...well we take off from a light and he starts to spin out catches it, and starts to spin out again so he gets as far to the right as he can. rather than stopping the cars behind us blow past us. We almost got hit by a brand new toyota tundra. And all cause some young kid didn't have the courtesy to at least get over. My friend ended up catching it and pulled over til the light turned red and went again.

i think parents sould just wise up and look at the big pic 350z+ my new driver kid+ his buddys+showing off what he dident pay for= well you see. same thing just happend in bristol first time drivers in a STI going to fast cuz they were past curfew and now they are dead. my buddy got a srt4 a few years back for his first car and he fliped it 9 times in the highway but he lived and it showed him it is not worth it. hell i rolled my 2nd car with no seat belt and i walked away and still never driven like that. and i totled my first car cuz i passed out at the wheel from driveing to much crossed the line and hit a car head on lucky no one got killed but it def showed me what good drive skills can do for you. but then again my parent never bought me a car and i could never afford a fast car at the time so speed was not a issue. my first car was a escort pony and the one i fliped was a 87 jetta. not i own the fast cars and know how to drive

I know what you mean about the license test it's pathetic a monkey could pass it here in Texas. The only reason I drive acceptably for a teen (not bragging) is because I've been driving since I was 11. I've recovered from 2 spins (neither my fault wasn't speeding I don't drive wrecklessly) NONE of my friends are good drivers I don't feel safe in any of their cars and I'm always the only one who buckles up lol. And once I fix my car I'm never getting in their's again I'll be driving and I'll be the first one to help when they wreck.

lol yeah. in the amount of time i've had this one car (4 years), most of my friends have had 3 on average. and this is my one and only DD.

i feel ya ... I didnt even have to take a drivers test to get my liscence ... (ask meh how) .... luckily i drive ok ... My sister didnt test either ... unluckily she cant drive worth shit ...

she goes 100 plus down 635 WHILE Texting her bf and doing her make up.

she has had her liscense since august and since then has had her Durango in the shop at least 5 times. Once she took out a parked car in a drive way in our neighborhood.

When I first took my test, it was down a city street with almost no traffic. They really should have a few tests, one for city driving, and another for highway, backroad etc.

I also think if you want to drive a Ford Excursion you should have a different license. The fact that you passed the test with a Civic doesn't mean you have any clue on how to drive an SUV. To apply for SS or workman's comp you should also have to retest. I can't tell you how many times I have been stuck behind a Buick doing 10 under the speed limit. Then they come to a dead stop to make a right turn.

Not to mention that I think when I'm doing 80 on the highway and you FLY by me in a minivan with your kids in the back the cop shouldn't give you a speeding ticket, he should tear up your license, tow your car, and make you and your family stand on the side of the road. Teach the kids that daddy and speeding are stupid.

The majority of replies to this thread fail miserably.

Why do you want the Govt to take more action with respect to issuing licenses and restricting the types of vehicle you can drive?

Its not the Government's fault that idiot parents purchase unsafe vehicles for their incestuously conceived children, who in turn go and kill themselves like evolution intended.

I live in ct and saw another report on this accident, this one neglects to inform you that two out of the three kids go to Xavier. Anyone who lives here knows that Xavier is a school with a lot of rich kids who's daddies buy them 350z's and S2000's for there sixteenth birthdays meanwhile paying for most of there kids heavy coke addictions. Not saying all people who go to Xavier are fucktards but i can name a few that i knew from high school.

And here lies the problem make the parents accountable for it when something like this happens its there fault they spoiled there now dead dumbass kids. So what your sayin is that its ok to not hold someone responsible for this crap, i disagree

i disagree with blaming the parents. all through middle school, your told that you are accountable for your own actions. in highschool, you are accountable for your own actions. they dont call your parents to come yell at you, they just suspend you, or expell you. atleast around here. wether or not the parents screamed their lungs off at them, sent them to JDC, beat them, etc, in the end it's the kid's decision what he's going to do. some people just dont listen, and you have to accept that. that's why i agree with B, that all applicants for a driving test should have to go to like a 3 day Skip Barber school, which would in turn cost more to take the test, reducing the amount of people who just take it again and agian and again till they pass by luck. it needs to be harder to get the license in the first place. it's inevitable that stupid people exist. just gotta sort them out.

I agree but honestly there is no reason for a high school kid to have a "sports car". Just like most things in life, people need to be eased into things.

A perfect example of this is the first night at college. What do I mean by this? A kid that was slowly exposed to alcohol and experimented with drugs before leaving home will almost never be the kid having his stomach pumped or dying the first night he is away from mom and dad. They wont be the ones trying everything on the table because they have tried it or at least seen it before.

This is a perfect example of how speed can be a drug. Junior's first car should not be a 12 second Camaro, a Ford Excursion, or an S2000. These cars are "too hard of a drug" for a beginner. The potential for stupid is too high. I know if I had something like that as a first car I would be dead. I did some stupid shit in my car, but when it boils down to it, I had a 140hp Integra.
