hey im trying to replace two wheel studs from my coupe 93.... but i got stuck in the process with this big nut:(!!!! i know is 32mm but i can get out!!! any idea of how this thing will come off easier???? thanks!!!!:)

it's staked down. there's one part of it that's bent in tward the axel to lock it from rotating off. you need to use a strong small flat head screw driver and a hammer to punch it back out round. then it's best to use a large breaker bar and a socket, and if that doesnt work, make a cheater bar by putting something strong on the end of the breaker bar to make it even longer. i like using the handle to my jack. but that should do it. or if you've got an impact wrench, you can use that, BUT REMEMBER, YOU MUST UNSTAKE THE NUT FROM THE AXEL FIRST

g'luck! ^_^

you might have to go to your autoparts store and get a large socket. not common in regular sets. go for the black extra strength one. worth it sometimes. those things can be a bitch.

i've busted so many ratchets on those suckers... i always slip a mechanic 20 bucks to zip them off and on for me so i can take them off easy later.

You should be able to take the studs out without removing the axle nut if you rotate the flange to the right position. If not, soak it in penetrating oil for at least a few hours and use a large breaker bar with a pipe 2-3 feet long over the end as an extension. You can generate way more torque than most impact guns that way. I've never had one yet that didn't break loose using that method.

as they said breaker bar with a cheater bar..do not use a regular ratchet..it will break,,,i had one case where the damn nut wouldnt turn,i bent a breaker bar trying..so i just pulled the whole hub off(i was pulling the motor)

lol the hardest one i've ever found was on my friend's '92 accord. it took 12 feet of cheating on a breaker bar. needless to say the breaker bar was flexing a lot. I guess 1up for Great Neck tools from autozone. tho i prefer snapon tools

Take the cutoff or grinding wheel and cut a slot in the side of it.

But be careful not to cut to deep as to damage the threads on the axle.
Takes patience and a steady hand.

i actually just took off an axle nut like 20 min ago....bent the licking tab out with a screwdriver, used a breaker bar and a looong ass pipe at the end...cranked on it and poof!

after numerous attempts with an impact

peaople are always saying an impact gun can get anything off!!! BULLSHIT!!! ive loosened more bolts with good ol man power than ive ever done with impact

damn straight...a lil elbow grease works great everytime

There are some impact guns that will get just about anything off, but most of them don't have enough torque to do it if they are really stuck. But they cost a lot of money and you need a big air compressor tank to run them. Get something that can do 800+ ft. lbs torque in reverse and they zip off axle nuts like they weren't even tightened down :D

well.. you could always end up putting a nice hole in the ground and attaching a pole with the socket on the axle nut an put it in drive, dump the clutch, and pray.

O wait... would there actually be enough torque to break it loose... Is there enough gearing on the transmission to do so.

Regardless I really wouldn't recommend doing what I suggested.

Impact wrench. I remember using a breaker bar to take the axle nut off. Took like 5minutes.

Got a electric impact wrench, brrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, done.

Also, you can have someone with a impact wrench(like a shop) loosen it for you, and just drive it back home with it tightened with a ratchet.
