I'm wondering if a f20c swap would be worth the money and how much fabrication would be needed? Would it be worth the efforts? 240 hp is alot for a stock motor.

Shit loads of fabrication would be needed. Not worth it in my opinion. You can drop an H22 and make 200 horsepower/160 ft/lbs torque for probably a third of the money you'd spend on an F20C conversion.

also there are fwd k series motors that are bone stock making 240 hp.in stock trim

there is a guy in dallas that has done it, but as the above states...its not worth the money...stick some cams in a k20a and call it a day.

True dat. Also, the F20C/F22C doesn't actually respond that well to bolt-ons. It's tuned so well from the factory that there's not really a lot you can do to it aside from turbo or supercharging.

The K-series on the other hand responds very well to bolt-ons and tuning. I'd look towards the K-series or an H22 instead. You'll have a lot less headaches.

my problem with k swap is that im in cali and would want to get it BAR'D and it would need the motor, ecu, and ignition to have matching numbers. Plus something about the fuel feedback line or something. But i have considered a k20a swap.

so what make the f series easier on that note

You're worried about passing Cali inspection and you think an S2000 motor is somehow more likely to pass than a K-series???

i was compelled to ask because i had never heard, so i knew about the k20 but didnt know about the f20. that is all.

well b series swaps are relatively easy, relative to a k20.
when it comes to passing bar i would think a jdm b and a jdm k series should be about the same but then again i have no clue i live in alabama lol

With a k series you would have to pick up a front clip for like 5 or 6 grand. Because the ecu has built in security and emissions control which in order for the stock ecu to work properly you would need the original ignition and the original key. its just a mess to pass a k series through the ref.

for real? but i think the ref looks at the serial numbers on the ignition and ecu and they are supposed to match up or you will automatically fail it... but i could be wrong, i hope someone can tell me for sure so if i were to do it i dont spend the extra money for a front clip.

so are you saying the numbers on the ecu is to match to your car or the motor
