Greetings-

After too many years of chebbys I've had help deciding to buy a honda...got a 91 accord ex wagon for the scrap price and am wondering what/where I can get a remanufactured engine for it...any suggestions?

Anything from stock replacement to moderate Hi-Po...considering the price, I could go a couplea thousand dollars and not feel any pain...I think...LOL!

Searching...searching...searching...learning the lingo...searching...Jasper gets HOW MUCH for a rebuilt? Where's my heart pills? Searching...O.K., NOW I know how to read the ECM codes...maybe it DOESN'T need an engine my wallet says...Hondaswap would seem to be the best resource on the web for this kind of stuff, I'm only back seven pages and still goin' back...back...back.

Thanks for the list, 'beater...I needed a starting point.

Ski...last Honda repair was a cylinder head-timing belt-water pump...in 1985...
Next we buy the adapter for the 30 year old snap-on compression tester...

Does it have to be a rebuild? You can put lots of different engines into that car relatively easily, and for not much money. You can probably get a used Japanese Prelude motor (200 horses) for the same cost as a rebuilt stock replacement.

I'd check out hmotorsonline.com. They're known for having quality engines.

As far as what fits, refer to d15beater's list.

And FYI, the F20 and F22 engines from the S2000 will NOT fit. Even though they're technically part of the F-series, they're totally different than the Accord motors.

I owuld say go h23a1 direct drop in don't even need to switch the ecu, motor mounts, wiring harness, and accesories anything.

Part of being a techhead (and a God?)
is finding a way to answer the same questions
over and over...in a different manner.

If the "Crusher of newbie ambitions"
could step up to the plate and do the deed
(thanks bub looks like the source for engines)
I would expect no less from a God...

Man...this is a steeper learning curve that computer repair
