I have a 90 Civic hatch and recently when it starts raining the carpet behind the drivers side seat just starts to get soaked. I put it up on the lift and checked underneath for rust holes or other ways for it to get in but there is no holes. And today I went out to the car after it rained all last night and there is literally 3 inches of standing water only behind the drivers seat, absolutely nowhere else in the car, it also leaks when I drive it around to.Right now I'm almost to the point of drilling a drain hole in the floor but I was wondering if anyone had this problem before and what they did or would recommend to fix it.

is your model an Si?

First check the doors and windows nearby.

Worst case take your car to the car wash, sit inside and have a buddy take the pressure washer all over the car and look for leaks.:D

ITs the seals around the hatch, the doors and the sort.

A friend of mine his amp fryed cause of the crappy weather striping around the hatch made it leak on the amp.

i used to get a dumper of rain from the sunroof in my 89 crx si on occasion that would deposit behind the seats.

used silicon seal on the hatch area to quell a slow dside hatch leak too..and have found that at least in the rex and my old accord, rain water runs down the hatch/trunk seams and collects in the taillights.

i'm a fan of the pressure washing idea above.

threadjack: i have a leak in my 91 rex under the dside dash, drips steady when it rains. anyone else have or had?

bingo, it leaks on the left by the clutch pedal for me too, though it drips down onto the top of my foot. distracting...

i looked. I can't tell where that shit is coming from. my floor pretty much stays wet though...

all i've ever been able to tell is that the water runs along the wiring that's under my dash before it hits my feet. that's pretty uncool. :(

if you go the moon roof pull it and check the weather stripping then eather replace it or if you really dsont use it just silicone the damn thing shut

i've seen the water comming down the clutch pedal on one of my old Demo cars. THe guy i bough it form did you rain hole idea and ended up rusting throught the floor so Id'd say dont do that just get your self a shopvac and a big ass fan to dry it out

???

Still haven't found where its leaking, but for now I'm just going to live with it....but the water near the clutch pedal could be from the rubber fitting in the firewall where you wiring harness comes in or it could be your clutch cables firewall fitting is bad and water is getting through that also.
