HS LEGEND
ok i know this has been covered before but i cant find the correct info,,and im just basically rechecking everything i will need..

i am going to be swapping a b18a1(obd0) into my 1991 civic si(obd0)
now i know i will need the mount kit,the ecu(pr4?),the shift linkage,

what else will i need??

i know i need to either cut the front crossmember,or get the traction rod setup,,and i need to put a dent in the drivers side bay(or could i just use a 1 groove crank pulley,im not running powersteering or ac)

any info would be great

ok after rewording my search i came up with some stuff,,but what i really need is a picture of where to put the dent in the framerail, and which throttle cable to use...

The dent goes right under the square hole. You still need the dent with the single pulley. Make sure you get it good or you end up with a really close alternator belt.

what all do you need to finish ur swap?

I have the axles, half shaft, motor mounts, shift linkage, stage 1 racing clutch, light weight fly wheel and the ecu.

i used my stock throttle cable. on my 91 crx si

When installing the B18a motor you need to beat in part of the engine bay where the alternator rests. i put the dent on the shock tower, about ten inches down a quarter inch deep and about 2 inches wide and 2 inches high. u don't have to cut the front cross member. my motor went in fine and didn't even touch the front cross member. u do have to take a hammer and pound the lip down about 3 and a half inches to get the rear t bracket to bolt in with out rubbing.

i need mounts,linkage,axles,ecu,and tranny,,im gettin a tranny for $100

thanx for the info

i might just hack my linkage though...

and im no going to do the swap for awhile unless i can get the parts for cheap,,cuz right now im going through hard times with money

yeah i know what it is like not having Money. i have parts for that swap, if you want them just make me an offer. everything is damn near in new condition. when i figure out how to upload pics, ill put up a for sale thread.

well honestly i dont want to make an offer becuz i dont wanna offend you with a lowball offer,,i dont know what theyre worth to you,,jus lemme know how much u are lookin for and ill see if i can do that

Come on by and leave some comments, would you?
yea i read that stuff and found alot of useful things thanx for the link

ok so ive been trying to put this stupid fuckin motor in for about 4 hours now and it just will not fit...i dont know if i have to cut the front mount that was on the corssmember off...but it just will not sit right in the bay...what the hell is wrong

I dont wanna have to the chance of the trans hitting that front bracket so I took it off. You have to drill the spot welds out of it and it will fall off, alot cleaner than cutting it off. i know you need to beat or knotch the rear crossmember so the rear bracket doesnt hit it when trying to line up the rear mount. From what i get its easier to lower the car onto the engine rather than dropping the engine in from the top. from the top you need to leave the trans mount off put the drivers mount on, swing the engine in at a angle and secure the drivers side loosely, Now install your trans mount on to the transmssion, place a jack under the trans side of engine, jack it up slowly intil the mount slides up into the frame, secure that mount loosely, move you jack to the rear of the trans, this will push the rear of the engine and roll the front fowards into position worj the bracket in the rear into place, bolt it to the rear mount and to the trans.

I have yet to do this but seems in my mind this would be the most logical way to do it from the top.....Apparently the dropping the car on the engine works alot better though. Good Luck.

thanx for the info...i dont think i have the right bracket for the rear, the one that connects the motor to the mount...it waay too long..

is there a differance between the years of integra mounts??

yes 94 an up are different...

That's the b18b motor, not the b18a1. You need to use the rear mount from the CRX, that should fit properly. As far as the front goes, drilling is definitely the way to go.

You'll also have to hammer in the driver's side of the engine bay a little (don't go killing it now) so the ... was it alternator? ... doesn't rub. I had to pull my b18 out four times to get it right, the last time was to paint the spot that I hammered so it wouldn't rust.
