LS or D16a6

im starting to fix my car after wrecking it i want to make my 90 civic fast with out boost or at least put supercharger in it i dont want turbo i just want all motor but a really fast all motor what should i do get a swap LS or stay with my stock D16a6 and just boost the d16a6. i heard its hard to get state sticker here in cali if swaping from sohc to dohc any idea how to do that too??? can some one also give a list of what do i need in swaping LS on my civic Si i want to start now cause the rain had stop. PLEASE HELP!!!

you say you dont want to boost but you wanna do turbo,but you want all motor but then you want to boost..
heres an idea,,figure what you want to do-heres options
1.turbo
2.supercharge
3.N/A-all motor
4.all motor/nitrous

then you need to do some research on the topic you pick-this site is not about spoon feeding people...do research,and some more research..
and also dont be surprised when people make asshole comments to you

aiight so here's what i want if im going to take b18a1 i dont need turbo or any boost but if im going to stick with my d16a6 i think i need turbo or supercharge it cause it has only 110hp on it so which one but the problem of having b18a1 is that i have to state reff and thats more headache if im going to boost my stock d16a6 thats gonna be headache too becuase i have to check my engine every run which one is the best thing to do i want to make my car fast

ok your stock intenal d16 will hold up to 200 hp safely so that means if you shoot for anything 201 and up your at risk,at 230 it is 100% going to grenade..
but the b18a1 has what 130hp stock?? and will hold between 200-250 safely...
so if you have both motors and are trying to compare stock the b18a1 is better for you,,
if you compare them modded,then the d16a6 is cheaper to mod,but more expensive to build to the hp ratings that the b-series will have with the same mods.

so you could do a stock internal turbo D and spend alot of money on turbo and tune session..
or you could swap the b-series and throw on basic mods like intake,header,exhaust, and be better off

yee i was thinkin about that too but the problem is im not sure if its going to pass the smog and the state reff here in CALI do you know anything about the STATE REFF

Three things...

1.) You're gonna be hard pressed to find a supercharger for your D16A6. Jackson probably made one back in the day, but most of their older stuff is discontinued. If you want to keep your D16, then you should probably look towards a turbo setup.

2.) If you want to swap in a B-series and keep it N/A, then I don't know why you're so stuck on the B18A. The B18A and B are really better for boost than for N/A builds. I'd look towards a B16 instead. They're not much more expensive.

3.) Yes, you can swap a B16/B18 into your car and pass inspections. All the wiring and emissions equipment has to be done correctly though.

keep the D16A6 and go cooled air intake, header, exhaust, trottle body spacer, msd ignition, and you can get the power you want at a cheep price and with those mods you can do it all yourself

there is no way in hell a d16a6 with like 102hp can get to where a 130hp b18a1 with just intake,header,ignition,and tb spacer...you realize those mods dont even add up to 28hp?!?!?

yee there is no way those mod can give hp cause intake doesnt give any hp the only i know that can give hp on d16a6 is turbo or supercharger that look like a mod 4 ricer rite?

are u for real cause check out the vid on youtube d16a6 all motor check it out cause thats turboed d16a6 runs i think 11's or 10's and thats turboed i havent seen a all motor d16a6 doing 10's wats the hp on that civic
