It might not be from an S2000. There are two different kinds of F-series motors. There are the ones that come in the S2000 (the the F20C and F22C), and the ones that come in the Accord and Prelude (F22A and F22B).

The Accord/Prelude motors are nothing like the S2000 motors, they're more like the H22 and H23.

Neither one of them is really an easy swap into your car either. The S2000 motor is damn near impossible. The only way that would work is if you have mad fabricating skills, or buckets full of money.

Find out exactly which motor it is and we can give you more information...

chances are (no offense) but anyways chances are it is probably an f22b. They are pretty common motors now-a-days. Not to mention if you are looking into a swap they come cheap.

If it's the FWD version, then the install is exactly the same as an H22 into your car.

whats the difference in the h22 and f22 i know there both 2.2 but why are they different?

vtec and not vtec, more power. the h22 motor is just better period. unless you wanna boost it the f22 has lower compression.

Different bores/strokes, biggest is head(DOHC VTEC vs. SOHC or DOHC), also different head castings, different aspiration components, etc.

ok well the motor this guy has is a h22 cuz its vtech unless it has a h22 head and a f22 block.

i dont know i havent talked to him about it much i still wanna know the specs on the engine

Well if you figure out which engine it is exactly, than it will be a lot easier to look up the specs. Either ask him whether it's dual or single-cam, or better yet, just go look at the engine. That way you'll know for sure what it is.

If it's a single-cam Accord engine, I'd probably skip it. In my opinion, the difficulty of installing an F/H-series motor into a Del Sol probably isn't justified if you're not installing an H22.

if you want a cheap f22b2 the non vtec kind come pick mine up man I'm asking $200. for the motor, wiring harness, tranny, I think I even have some of the motor mounts, a/c condensor, p/s pump, brand new timing belt. The only issue is it has high mileage.
