Strike me down if this is a repost. But it's just too cool for me not to share.

So I went to the Chicago auto show yesterday and saw all there was to see. But one of the cars that excited me was the CR-Z. It has so much of the CR-X look, but modernized nicely. To me it has all the potential of future tuners. No performance specs were givin but I think we can bank on a K-series, making it versital. It's so sleek and small, yet practical. Well, here, less talk by me, more link action.

Honda CR-Z Concept to make production

If anybody wants I'll post the pics I took at the show. Tho the car I saw was a lil earlier in the conception stage. It still showed what honda was going for. I swear it's a spitting image of the CR-X. Sorry MCDs, but I'm lovin it!

Definitely a :repost:

And don't be so sure about the K-series. Did you even read that article you posted? It says the car is a hybrid, most likely sharing the same powerplant as the current Civic hybrid.

And, if they do actually produce it like the article says, I'm sure the production car will be toned down quite a bit from the concept. The interior is too futuristic looking for a production vehicle, and the wheels are too big, especially if the point is gas mileage.

I saw this thing at the Detroit show by the way. It was cool, but I was more impressed with the S2000 CR myself...

Well yeah of course I like the S2000 as well. No matter what trim level it is. Sweet car. I wanted to see something new. The CR, doesn't look much different. I'm sure it would feel 'new' though lol.

Yeah your right about the hybrid thing. No honestly I didn't read the article till after I posted it. I was mainly posting it for the pictures in my mind. Well I guess someone's going to have to swap it. Maybe it will be like the Civic Insight was to Bisi. I like the outside look. The sleekness. And how it retains so much of the CR-X image in my mind. I'm still not a fan of those dash boards, but maybe it'll grow on me.

Ya lets hope those large rims don't roll off the production line.

Well if the rims had a bad ass motor to match, that'd be a different story. I like the exterior styling too, it evokes the CR-X, but very modern at the same time. And yeah, I'm sure as soon as this thing hits the streets people will start tearing them apart and installing K swaps...

old news

if it comes out people will still bitch that its not enough of a CRX just like they did the last time Honda released a fuel efficient good handling 2 seater <cough>Insight</cough>

:werd:

I was about to say that. Seems like no one wants what seemed like the CRX replacement; Insight. I tried to get one about two years ago but it was more than how much I was looking to spend. Cars are only getting bigger nowadays. The 06 Civic coupe is like the size of my 90 Accord.

face it. the crx will never be reborn. Ever.

even if they do and call it CRX II. It will 3 times as heavy and wont be a gas save like the crx was. Honda was putting out 45mpg cars. Why the hell did they have to fuck it up? Now it seems they can't produce an engine that get anything better than 35mpg. My girl's civic lx with a D17 gets 30.

just sad.

looks ok. id buy it, but im more interested in what a REAL production vehicle would look like. i mean all those lights in the interior and shit will look cool for a prototype but wont make it to production, same with the tiny side mirrors.

They have been saying it was coming out for the last couple of years. personally don't think it will and i don't think it will sell .

I don't like it, except for some of interior. I think the outside is absolutely ugly, it doesn't remind me of a CRX at almost at all.
CRX's are way cuter and like how they look a lot better. The dash is too high, like in the 05 Mustang. I wouldn't be able to see above it lol. Even if I adjusted the seat!!!

I might just wait to buy an accord if this thing looks and drives decent. Oh yeah, and if it's available in europe. (Euro-spec hondas rock. btw.)

Right, there's no way that the production car's interior is actually going to look like that. I predict the addition of lots more gauges, buttons, etc., plus just a general toning-down of the futuristic look.

Its easy to make a tin can with wheels that gets 45mpg.

Thank "5 star" crash ratings and increasing government safety standards for fucking up Honda's niche market.
