what will fit in the HF

looking for a new block for my crx HF what will fit and from what year and modle cars

i have a bad watter pump a leak in head gasket and a number of other problems so i figure just change it out with somthn that suports a 16 valve and i have no idea what car to go pull a new engen out of any help will be grate

the best fit with less mods, is the DOHC ZC. I got one on my HF and it really is a direct fit. I used the hf trans which is not the best performance, but to DD the trans loves the torque of the ZC.

I'm not BLANCO... but he will probally say the LEAST TROUBLE would be d15b/d16 (smeagul /\ /\ ), the one from the civic dx/lx/SI of the same generation( '88-91' ). The HF motors were pitifull in the power department, these engines would be an easy 25-30 crank HP over the HF and still offer good gas mileage on the HF tranny. BLANCO is the perfect person to ask about the details though.

I wouldn't say ANY. OBD2 in to an HF crx would be more trouble than its worth.

If he's not sure which engines would fit his car, I probally wouldn't recomend him trying to wire for v-tec^_^
