FALCON PUNCH!!!
ESA - Space Science - Titan’s surface organics surpass oil reserves on Earth

Proven reserves of natural gas on Earth total 130 thousand million tons, enough to provide 300 times the amount of energy the entire United States uses annually for residential heating, cooling and lighting. Dozens of Titan's lakes individually have the equivalent of at least this much energy in the form of methane and ethane.

Bush is prolly trying to buy the land rights for it now.....

exxon mobil already has the land rights and are dividing the planet and naming it after their favorite politicians
cheney south pole
bush north pole
and of course they have to name the transport ship condoleeza

Bush's and Cheney's Poles....that doesn't sound right.

Condoleeza sucking oil out of Bush's Pole.

Also, This energy that is being measured is like measuring the "energy" in Columbia. The real measurement that Titan is impressive on is the amount of carbonates. Those Carbonates resemble whats in chemical fuels.

Getting energy from there to here is not possible. If you were to send a tanker there to get it, the amount of energy to accelerate that tanker is approximate to 50% of the total mass being moved. It will take more energy than that to stop the tanker when it's reached it's destination.

the solution is to generate a super gravitational ray so thay we can lure the Titan into earth's orbit, making it easier to harvest

all we need is a man brilliant enough to devise a plan to do this

I give you our new secretary of energy!

It's impossible now, but in the future we know what we'll be doing with Titan.

WE REQUIRE MORE VESPENE GAS.

Fuck son, you're full of funny posts lately ! I almost spit out my coffee

StarCraft II

When is the game coming out? At this point, it's too early to provide an initial estimate on the release date. As with all Blizzard games, we will take as much time as needed to ensure the game is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible.

Glad I could lighten up the day :)

Another interesting prospect is rather than transporting it here, it can be used for powering future missions/outposts/mining/etc. that takes place out there.

Fueling missions like that has always been a serious problem because the fuel itself takes up so much damn space.

OMG doesnt starcraft 2 come out soon?

StarCraft II: Confirmed for Brawl!

On a serious note, when we have the capabilities for interstellar travel to where we can effectively use Titan as a "fueling point", I really hope we're using something better than ethane/methane to power our ships (due to the aforementioned excessive mass of these fuels).

Powering spacecraft... no. However, powering structures in that general area becomes much easier.

we'll never get the enterprise to warp speed on methane.

The more and more I look into it, the only possible way to power a starship is to tap into zeropoint energy.

Now, to prove that it even exists....

Either. It's going to be necessary for a travelling starship to get it's fuel "along the way". Either to scoop some sort of particle up (neutrinos in a super dense synthetic material) or for the travelling itself to collide with another sub atomic particle and create a controlled reaction.

Anything, man... anything. I happen to believe that the key to first ftl travels will be that teleportation experiment from last year. All you need to do is get "space" (Not particles) from one end (the intake) to another end (the outlet) of ... something.

I believe the key is massive amounts of electricity. But I have yet top have anything measurable .. even on paper.

With all things, the way to (partially) solve that problem is make it use less fuel or find a better fuel. I think your best bet at that point is some sort of antimatter system, not for propulsion, but for energy generation. Lots of energy from very little mass, but you talk about gas prices...

I'm putting my bets on the "warp drive" idea. Distort space in front of and behind a bubble of space your craft resides in. The bubble moves forward to "ride the wave" so to speak. I like it because it's an indirect form of propulsion. Never does it act on the ship itself, getting rid of nasty things like time dilation, not to mention keeping physics happy.

How do you do it? Hey, if I knew that, would I be here? :)
